I was laughing at the "hemp polyester fleece" too! All in all a pretty good article though...although this part was funny too "....who designs the diapers to fit toddlers ranging from 8 to 35 pounds. " Ummm...an 8 lb toddler? I don't think so!!!

i especially liked how they phrased the environmental issue "ANN THINKS cloth diapers are better for the environment." like this is some crazy idea she's come up with all on her own, right?

good publicity for her though! not that she needs it!

What the heck is up with the ped they quoted? He didn't see a lot of diaper rash on babies who didn't wear diapers? Now that is rocket science.
:

All in all, not a bad article!

wow! that is great for ann!

too bad that pediatrician sounded like a dunce. "The best deal is no diaper," Beuf says, who worked in a Third World country and didn't see a lot of diaper rash with his patients, who didn't wear them."

brilliant observatioin!!

That's awesome that Ann had an article about her!!

But what's up with getting some random pediatrician to contradict what she says?
: I thought the article was on Ann. And yes, the ped is brilliant to observe that babies that don't wear diapers don't have diaper rashes.
: Duh.

LOL

Now I'm sure Ann didn't say cloth was a breathable wool...
I noticed that too? Maybe he had a dyslexic moment there?

Well, what about this quote:

"Moisture is sucked into disposable diapers because they are extremely absorbent. When cloth gets wet, Beuf says, it is held against the skin, causing irritation. "

In my experience, moisture gets "sucked" into cloth diapers too (it doesn't leak out the sides or anything). It's like a totally circular sentence, moisture gets "sucked" and disposables are "extremely absorbent"; sposies are extremely absorbent because moisture gets sucked, blah blah blah.

I guess what he meant to say is that the moisture goes into the core of sposies whereas moisture *may* be against the skin in cloth. Of course, if you have an absorbent cloth diaper, and you read FuzDaddy's article, you know that cloth can suck the moisture into the core of the fibers, resulting in a dry feeling surface, as opposed to a sopping wet diaper. Of course, fleece may help prevent the wet fabric from being against a baby's skin, too.

And he misses the whole point about what is against baby's skin instead of "moisture"-- bleached paper, chemicals, etc. Oh yeah, that's real healthy.

But yeah for Ann, I think it's great she's getting some publicity locally for her beautiful and functional products. She deserves it. It does seem kinda funny though to be thinking about "branching out" (maybe that should be branching in?) into a local market, when she already sells worldwide.
