Does 16 stitches and 12 rows seem like a reasonable gauge for the Lion's Brand Chunky Wool (the same type used in the picture) on size 11 needles? I've never tried to calculate gauge before

(I've only made scarves and the easy-peasy! Forgive me!) and I'm not 100% sure I'm counting right!
Just BTW, I got the spice lion's brand, and I'm just loving how it's looking knitted up - if I can manage this, it's going to be a gorgeous poncho!
