I don't know why it is, but this is the first time a nickname hasn't popped into my head for the baby to be. (and we're even more stuck on what to name the baby <i>after</i> it's out!) For now though, it's just Fetus No-name, poor thing <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
What's your nickname for your little one, if there is one?

You could go with the ever popular and classy Cletus the Fetus. My nephew calls our baby Roo (as in from Winnie the Pooh). We use the fake name we've given everyone, but DH occasionally called the baby Argus <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/headscratch.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headscratch"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/shrug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="shrug">

No nickname here either. So I just say "baby". It sounds so boring but I don't want to get in the habit of using the name we've chosen since we're keeping it quiet. I wish we had a clever nickname....

We call the baby 'Lennie' because when I found out I was pregnant we figured it was about the size of a lentil. With DD we called her Chickpea. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

We have called O'Rion Speck since we found out I was pregnant. It has stuck most of our friends still ask how is Speck doing. Poor guy will be 6'3 graduating from high school and still called Speck.

And THAT is why we've never had a nickname for "the baby" (either this one or any other). <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

She's been Poppy since about 4w2d when something I read said the baby was about the size of a poppyseed. It won't be her official name on the outside, but I imagine it will be her most frequently used name.

We've gone with the classy "Cletus." I dunno- I think it's funny. At the beginning he was "Joe Blow the Embryo."

This one we have called Olive. I was really on the names Oliver and Olivia for a while and dh nixed them both so I just started calling the baby Olive. With Henning we called him Bean and with Connor we called him Monkey. Bean never stuck but I still call Connor Monkey.

I don't use baby because we still call my 10 month Baby. We've always called this one Peanut. The full name is Peanut Potato Potato (as in Po-tay-toe Po-Tah-toe) Peanut might stick because my mother found some baby clothes that says "I love my little peanut" and has a picture of a peanut on it. Too cute.

These are all really cute! The only name I remember having was for my last baby which was Cocobaby. I know I had nicknames for the boys but I can't really remember what they were <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/headscratch.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headscratch">

I called him Mini-fetus for months, a nick started by a best friend of mine. Once we saw the 3D ulrasound, though, we gave him his actual name (Zachary) because we like it and could tell it suits him. But he still gets Mini-fetus from time to time, because it's fun.

We tried all sorts of names like peanut and bun, but nothing really 'stuck' until my dh started referring to it as Muffin. You see, muffins are tastier and in general more interesting than buns, but they still get baked in ovens. Lol. So Muffin, or Muffy, it has been for a while now. I hope it doesn't stick after the birth...!!

WE dont have one for the new baby yet. But my son has been called monkey for the longest time. Now its been shortened to Monk. Go figure. WE are a family of LOTS of nicknames, so he gets called MANY THINGS. As I am sure the new baby will have the same fate. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">
