Each baby has had a nickname in my blog, since I hate having to work out whether to say 'the baby' or 'the fetus' or 'it' or what. This one is 'the newt'. My son was 'the frog prince' before he was born.

Mine is Cleatus II. There was a local DJ who was pregnant when I was that called her baby Cleatus the Fetus - well DS's dad just loved it and it stuck - so now I have Cleatus II.

This poor child has a different nickname every week, depending on what we're talking about. Sometimes DP calls it Godzilla, sometimes Popcorn. I always just call it "our little bean"...that's used most often. We were watching Celebrity Baby Names on VH1 last week and DP heard the name Banjo, so sometimes it's Banjo. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment"><br>
DP's parents call it ChristyJuliBob...a mix of everyone's name who was involved in the making of this babe. (DP, me, donor)<br>

dh called it "our bubble," lol... i kind of go between Cashew and Small Alien Growth... sorry but those pictures (5w4d) remind me of that weird alien that came out of that guy's stomach in Space Balls and started singing "hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my rag time doll..."<br><br>
...maybe i'm the only who thinks this strangely...

It's funny that you say that. When I had DD #1, in the hospital, they set up a mirror and let me watch. I looked down and saw her and said (I thought it was in my head) "Wow she looks like the alien that comes out of the guys stomach on space balls!" Everyone started laughing.
