Last night e went to sleep on his own, NOT like him but it is something we have been shotting for.
Well he slept from 9 to 3 and ( another unheard of) at 3 he woke up screaming and when I tried to comfort him and pick him up to get in our bed he freaked out on me, hitting ans screaming at me. FINALLY dh tried and it was a little better, well enough for him to get him in bed. Sound like a night terror?

Ugh - it does a little. My first and my third both had them... my first when he was around 3, my third when she was around 1. Basically, they don't know what's going on and won't remember it. But they're scary! Just soothe him back to sleep, these didn't last long for me (a couple of months for each child, and not every single night).... Good luck!

Wish I had an answer for you because I have been wondering the same thing about dd. She has had the exact same thing maybe 6 or 7 times since she was about 10mo. old...she is now 15 mo. It does tend to happen when she is overtired, sick or teething so it is hard for me to say. I know that I can't comfort her through it, it just seems to make it worse. I try to just stand by until it seems she is aware enough for me to comfort her or pick her up.
