night time diapering question

I have been using fuzzibunz for about a month now during the days and weaning from disposables at night. One night I tried a fuzzibunz with two microterry inserts and an Aristocrat wool cover. He was dry the next day but the bulk was incredible. Are they comfy like this? So last night I tried just one insert and the wool cover on top and he was drenched from head to toe - even with the wool cover on.

so - do most of you pocket users use two inserts at night?

I use Fuzzi Bunz stuffed with two Cotton Babies Microterry inserts. It's a bit bulky, but works fine.

Maybe you could try one microterry on top and a hemp underneath? The microterry absorbs quicker, but I believe hemp holds more.

another thing I've done, my dd's have both been stomach sleepers, so I fold one insert in half and put it behind another insert, so there's more absorbancy in front while they sleep. You could do the reverse for a back sleeper, I bet.
I use 1 cotton baby insert and a microfiber towel. I fold it up in the front some since that's where my son wets the most.

My baby seems to be a heavy wetter! Ever since she moved into the medium fuzzi bunz we have stuffed her night time diaper with a large hemp insert, a small hemp insert, a cotton babies microfiber, and a Mother Of Eden microfiber. It's bulky, but she doesn't seem to mind.

I use one microfiber insert, and one terry washcloth folded in half. He also sleeps in a fleece sleepsack so I don't have to put a onesie on him. No leaks!

We also have 1 joeybunz that I use when the microfiber towels are in the wash. But the towels solved our leaking at night problem immediately. They were a tip from another diapering mama here!

I've used many different combinations of inserts & fibers. Basically the point is that you only need bulk in the wet zone. You can put in one large insert or microfiber towel and then add as much as you need to the wet zone. You can use small inserts or fold large ones in half. We use one large insert and 2 small ones in the wet zone. Never had a leak. And we don't put wool over the pocket dipe. If you have enough absorbancy then the pul shouldn't leak.
I don't use pockets at night but I have been using pretty bulky fitteds that have a snap-in soaker and then I had another doubler folded in half...We then put wool over it...It is really bulky but ds just thinks it is funny and he likes to shake his bulky bum
