And while I got a few looks like, "what are you doing?" The booth was way tight and I was literally dangling DS from my breast so that his head wouldn't hit the table. The manager walked up and I was ready for a issue to arise, but he wanted to talk to us about how amazingly well behaved my DD (3yo) was and how neat it was to see her interact so well with other adults like the servers. He even asked her if she liked her baby brother which she said, "yes and now he drinks mommys milk." The manager smiled and said, "Yes and he's happy huh?" She smiled and went back to her food.

I feel so bad for fearing the worst, but so glad that we had the best experiance.

My second attempt to NIP was at TGIF and yes, those booths sure are tight! I had some old lady staring at me, but maybe she was just thinking about how cute my baby was! Nice to hear a good story.

by the way, may I ask the significance of sea turtle mommy? - just curious, I used to work with sea turtles for a living.

Sea turtles are my favorite animal, when I had DD she would extend her neck kinda like a turtle does, as does my DS now and we started calling them my little sea turtles...so thus I became sea turtle mommy to all my friends...If I could I would love to work with sea turtles, when I was younger I told my mom I was going to move somewhere to work for a sea turtle rescue, but Dh's job keeps me away from being able to do that...but perhaps someday
I love turtles my home is fully decorated in turtles and when I had my son I had to find sea turtle stuff for him...

Nice to hear your positive experience! I remember trying to keep my ds's head from hitting the edge of tables while nursing, lol.

Same expperience with tight booths. I nursed ds in the New Native sling - just did it in football hold with my hand under his head. Whenever I see a mama nursing I try to give her a BIG smile and thumbs up, but sometimes moms are afraid to meet peoples eyes while nursing, maybe for fear of disapproval. It's too bad - I really want to spread the love!!

Oh I wasn't about to slink into a corner...I sat right on the end of the booth, eating my ever yummy oreo cake...I was surprised how easily DS latched considering our tight quarters...

I had a similar experience at a Max & Erma's when NIPing my ds lo these many years ago. The booths were so tight that he actually managed to kick over my iced tea, but even when the waitress had to come help mop up the iced tea, and I still had him latched on very awkwardly, she didn't bat an eye and was very friendly and pleasant about the whole thing. It was so nice.

That's fantastic! The last time I was at TGI, I saw a woman bottle feeding her very young baby propped up in a high chair. She just had the thing stuffed in the baby's mouth. No interaction whatsoever. Everytime I walked by I think I must have glared because on my third trip, she gave me a nasty look. :

Eesh, we were at Red Robin this weekend and *those* booths are tight too! I was turned all sideways with DS's body practically dangling under the table ... it felt like I was holding him up by his head.

Doesn't help that I'm not exactly svelte myself, I guess I have to admit ...
