my right nipple has been so sore lately, it looks and feels like blisters. anyone alse ever have this?

Idid have plugged ducts a couple of weeks ago, but that seemed to clear up after a few pump sessions. the blisters aren't white like the bleb I had before with the plugged duct.

I think they came from ds's voracious latch when he was really hungry one night. I tried to nurse on only the left for a while, but then my right breast would get sooo full, i'd have to pump. I'm back nursing on the right, so I screech in pain when he first latches on and it isn't so bad once he's on.

i've had to take ibuprofen a couple of times and the cabbage leaf helped with swelling. no signs of thrush...

Could be your nipple was damaged a bit from improper latch or suck. Thrush does not usually cause blisters.

Apply lanolin between nursing for comfort.

Do you have herpes simplex 1 virus? They can spread to the nipples.

I had those with the twins when they were little beans - it was my positioning - my football hold wasn't winning the Heismann, apparently

After some Lansinoh and air, along with my wonderful LLL's help properly positioned, they disappeared....

Good luck, Mama

Yeesh, no herpes! But am using the Lansinoh and working on his latch. It is getting a bit better, I just have to stick it out.

Thanks!
