I started getting nipple vasospasms on my honeymoon (go figure) 6.5 years ago when we were staying on the Oregon Coast in the winter (read: COLD)- obviously NOT nursing at that time (it was 1.5 years before our first baby). At first I couldn't figure out WHAT the heck was wrong with me, it hurt soooooo bad when I'd get even the slightest bit chilly. Well, I've been getting them ever since when I get cold, nursing or not. The thing is, I seem to be and odd duck because nursing HELPS (because of the warmth, I assume), it doesn't make it worse or more painful. Does anyone else experience this? It seems like every time I read about someone else experiencing them, nursing aggravates the problem.

I only ever experienced it from nursing, so I don't know if I have any helpful info. My nipples were fine while nursing, but it was the cold after unlatching that set them off. It may have been something with latch too because it took us a while to get it just right and now I don't get it any more.
