Saw this posting in another thread. This is new to me. We feed raw. Why would we want to give puppies food with grains? I don't have a puppy <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> I'm just curious.

It's no grain-free KIBBLES. Of course a raw diet is GREAT for puppies. But the grain-free kibbles are incredibly concentrated and rich and they can encourage too-fast growth in puppies, so you'd have to restrict the portions a LOT, and that's uncomfortable for the puppy and the owner.

Oh that is a good point regarding concentration of the food if you went with grain free kibbles. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks.
