after much worry and dread about a possible induction on the 16th because of GD...and running around researching accupuncturists in the area...my baby decided to do me a favor and come 5 days early!

Iris Rowan was born November 9th at 12:24pm.

she's 8 lbs 11 ozs. born naturally in the hospital - though i wasnt sure we'd make it.

labor moved quickly. lost my mucus plug at 5:30 am. contractions started around 6 - pretty random and varied.

my midwife decided she wanted me to come in so she could check my progress.

on the way to the office (which is also at the hospital) contractions switched to every 2 - 3 minutes!

i felt the urge to push as we were driving down the road!

of course my husband decided to drive through the local college campus just as classes were switching...I told him - don't stop for pedestrians or yellow lights : )

got to the hospital and was already fully dilated.

i was shaking and apparently in transition. no time for the bath or any of my laboring plans.

straight on to pushing...though it was all happening too quickly and i wasn't ready.

i had to wrap my head around it all.

my water didnt break until the first push (just like with DD1)

once i was mentally there it took about 4 good pushes and she was out!

my dd is so happy to have a sister!

born with a full head of dark hair and super beefy!

so far feeding is going well - though she wants to do it constantly.

we couldnt be happier!
