Well, last night I decided to pump some milk to freeze for a later date. I grabbed the plastic container that I usually use to hand express. I sat on my couch with the container between my knees and I started to hand express. After about 15 minutes I only had about 1/2 an ounce!! I was getting SO frustrated. I usually have 3-4 ounces after expressing for that long. I kept going going and I was having streams of milk shoot out--so what was the problem?! Well, I decided to give up. I got off the couch and stepped in a huge, wet puddle on my carpet. The container had a small hole in it from being in the dishwasher! I didn't even know that the whole time (about 1/2 hour total) I was expressing my milk it was dribbling out the bottom!! I guess I am still suffering from new baby brain!!! My husband thinks it was funny--I guess it is funny now that I think about it--but geez!

I know they say not to cry over spilled milk, but I do!!!! I hate it when I do something dumb and loose my valuable milk, so I feel for ya!!!

One time I had 7oz that I pumped at work and left it in my car!! It spoiled of course, I'm still mad about that and it was 2 months ago!!!

I was thawing some frozen milk and it spilled all over the chopping block. Lost at least an ounce. Not that much, but my milk supply has taken a dive in the last few days??? So, yes I cried over spilled milk..well kind of whimpered and was late to the cross country meet I volunteered for...because I had to nurse. Priorities...love that priority.

Mommylove, this is kind of OT and I mean this with love.

If you are worried about your milk supply and are raising 3 sons, and your baby is only 3 months old and you are volunteering for cross country meets, could that have anything to do with your dropping milk supply? Cutting short a feed or skipping them esp if your baby is laid back and doesn't protest much, can be a danger.

Just an idea...
