No pants will fit!

I can't find any pants to fit DS!

He has been wearing 24 mos, but they are getting too small in the rear and falling down. Even though most of them have just gotten to fit enough to wear without rolling them up.

I went out and bought him some 3T's, since the 2T's seemed about the same as 24 mos. They are so big they fall right down off him. The shorts I bought come down to mid-calf.

So, I went out and bought him some 2T's. They don't fit his rear and hips--they won't even come up far enough to cover his diaper, and they slide down because they are too small. And I still have to cuff them!

I bought a mix of brands and stores, because I know they are all slightly different, but nothing seems to work.

He has short legs and a long inseam and pudgy middle. I don't sew at all, so that's no help. What do I do? I just want him to have some pants that stay up so he can run and play!

Are these elastic waist pants? How about sweat pants and then cut them off to shorts?
Yeah. I'm right there with you, although not exactly. None of my kids fit well in any of their pants. With three long, lean kids, my problem is that by the time they have enough belly and booty to actually hold up the pants in a particular size, they look like they're expecting a flood.
My current solution with DS, for instance, is to use the larger size pants (DS needs a 3T for the length, but they fall down around his ankles, and he's in cloth diapers too so you would think the diaper would hold it up). Then I pin the pants to his undershirt at the sides. I'm in big trouble when undershirt-season passes. Maybe pin to the diaper? Or pin to the shirt?

With the girls, I've mostly given up and gone to dresses.

What kind of diaper does he wear?

I've resigned myself to the fact that DS' pants will *NEVER* fit. Cause' they don't. Either they're too long, or they're too short. There is never a time (or at least, not for more than like, a day), when they actualy fit.

That said, DS is in that in-between point between 24 month/2T & 3T right now too. his waist is *almost* big enough for 3Ts, but they're definetly *way* too long still (though the shorts he had on today fit really well, IMO). Honestly, a lot of boys' shorts these days are just really long and are designed to come down to the knee or even mid calf... at least, thats been my experience

Have you tried the elastic shorts/pants from the Childrens Place? They are fantastic! They have sweats too.
for my skinny tall kid, I only buy adjustable waisted pants. They have elastic and a button on each side to adjust to different sizes. (Target maternity pants are like this too.) Carters, Children's Place, Gap, Gymbo, and even Miejers carry these kind. Maybe they would even work for a chubby short kid.
Overalls. They've saved my sanity because nothing seems to fit my DS.

I have yet to find adjustable waist pants in any size smaller than a 4T. My son is very tall (needs 3T for length), but thin (he could get by with 18 months for his waist), so adjustable waist paints would be so fabulous, but I just can't find them in the smaller size.

These were my solution this past winter, but now that potty training is in full swing, they are just too hard to get up and down.

I am so glad shorts season is here, I just buy them to fit his waist and they are a bit shorter than they are meant to be. Works great for now!

I have size 24 month pants that are adjustable. Most I have found start at 2T. Have you checked Old Navy, I know he has jeans from there that are 2T maybe they sell out of them fast around your area.
