Hi...first time posting. I am a RN and live in Roch,NY. I cannot find a peds that is okay with my decision to selectively vax and delay it. My daughter is 9 months old and vax free, and as the mother of 8...7 others all vaxed (my youngest is 9 other then the baby) she is by far my healthiest child.

There is sooooo much pressure to vax here, that I am now considering the DTaP and HIB at her next well baby (in 2 weeks).

ANy advice for selective vaxers? Peds? You would think i would know , being a nurse...but I work home care and labor and delivery at a local hospital and dont run into many non-vaxing/selective vaxing parents.

Go to a family practice dr. the generally do not pressure about vaxes. You can also say that you are getting them done at the health dept/clinic so your child will not be afraid to go to the Dr's office (as you were as a child).

We don't vax at all and luckily have a Dr who won't harass us about it.

Might want to post in 'Finding your Tribe' area and see if there are any recommendations for your town.

We have had good experiences at our family practice doctor's office. But if I hadn't known from others' personal experiences there, I would have called up first and said I was looking for a new doctor, do they accept unvaccinated children? Even if you plan for some vaxes, if they aren't rattled by that question, then you should be fine. Good luck.

If you are under pressure to inject toxins and carcinogens into your child, you better cancel the appointment. No healthy kid needs a doctor anyway.
