I lurk here often and I've just noticed a couple posts that mention diaper rash with cd'ing. I've had exactly the opposite experience. My son has NO diaper rash at all. His skin looks very healthy! He even has eczema and sensitive skin so I have to be careful about what touches him. We use Happy Heiny's with JoeyBunz inserts - 2 at night. The fleece keeps his skin surprisingly dry so he can go a bit longer in those. I also use CPFs and lay a fleece liner in them which keeps a lot of wetness away from his skin. Of course you have to change them more often - not like the disposables. But I see some of the babies with their diapers so full and sagging down - how gross is that. I change him about every 2 hours or so. And immediately with any kind of poop. If I wait even 10 minutes, he'll break out in a rash and that's with cloth or not.

I love cd'ing and feel like I'm really pampering my baby by keeping him so dry and fresh with the soft fabrics!

Sorry, just wanted to throw that in!

My dd never had rashes either until

a) wore sposies for a trip as an infant

b) had teething poo which is more acidic but it went away within hours

c) became a toddler and her urine got stronger

d) was allergic to fleece

I have overall had great success keeping dd's bum healthy with cloth dipes!
