I know it is probably very normal but I am paranoid

My two eldest had teeth by 4 months but Samantha is still showing no sign of teething at 7 1/2 months old. Reassure me, this is normal right? When did your babies get a first tooth and when should I get worried?

My wee one started teething at 4 mos and didn't cut his first tooth til he was 9 MONTHS OLD!! I've heard that it's actually benificial for them to wait longer to teeth, as the enamel is protected longer and their jaw is more mature....either that or people were just trying to reassure me cuz my babe was 8 months old and had no frickin' teeth

I've actually heard of a couple of babes who didn't cut teeth til just after their first b days! I'm sure you'll be enjoying the joys (can you sense the sarcasm?) of teething with your babe soon enough!

my ds had NO teeth and is 10mo!! I talked to a dentist about it, she said don't worry, some babies don't get teeth till they are past a year!!!

My niece didn't start getting teeth until 13 or 14 mos and now at just over 2 has a mouthful! Apparently BIL was a late teether as well.

I was a late teether -- 16 1/2 months when I cut my first tooth!! You get creative with the mealtimes, but overall it's fine!

DS cut his first 2 teeth at 9 months. He now working on the top two.

My dd did not cut her first tooth until just past ten months. But, then she made up for lost time: she cut four teeth in just less than ten days. Let's just say that she was a little bit cross for a couple of days. But, the advantage was that we got the first four over with all at once. At eighteen months, she is still cutting teeth in groups.

Don't fret. They'll come in.

You're probably reassured already, but I thought I'd add that we've got no teeth here at over 9 months old. I'm in no big hurry for them to come in!

Dd was 13 mos when 2 teeth popped thru. They came in 2 at a time from then on!

My little guy's two bottom teeth popped through on his 8 month birthday, and that's all he has. He is now almost 11 months without even a hint of more teeth on the way. I love his 2 teeth grin though. I think it is normal.

Both of my sons were about 8.5 months old when their teeth started popping through. My dd was 4 months!! ouch! My youngest son is 10.5 months old and only has 5 teeth.

Another one here for 11 months. Then they all came in in a flurry. Lucky guy though showed no signs of discomfort for any of his teeth. We never knew when he was getting another tooth.

Totally normal!!! My baby didn't cut her first tooth until 8 mo. and had only the one until 9 1/2 mo. when the other 3 came in all at once! And - she had been teething since she was 2 mo. old. It is hereditary. She is 10 1/2 mo. now and still only has the 4 teeth.

If you are nursing, count your blessing! I have permanent scabs on my breasts from her front teeth.

I was 14 mos before I got my first tooth and my mom says the dentist had to "help" them pop through. He used a tounge depressor and rub it over my gums (I guess to soften up the gums, remove some of the top layer).

I was also pretty much bald too at that age too. Picture that - bald and toothless at 14mos . (But I was still cute!

)
