SO! Turns out I'm almost 35 weeks, not 33 as I thought. Pregnancy brain. what can you do?

Anyway, saw the MW yesterday and was saying that I just didn't feel like I had any more room and was fairly sure I wouldn't hit 40 weeks. She did some probing and measuring and said, "Yep, he's dropped and is pretty low down there so I don't think you'll go that long either!"

Have to hold out for 2 more weeks and then, God willing, I'm done!!!

Think I'm going to have a Yankee Doodle Dandy on my hands!

I'm right there with you. Baby has dropped and pre labor has begun. I have an appt. next week with my OB and this is the time they do the Group B strep test, so I imagine that he will check my cervix while he is in there

My mom is out of town until July 3rd, so I have to try to hold off until then, but we'll see!

Good luck!

at least not that I've noticed. but my abdominals hurt so much I think I'd have to be having fairly strong surges before I realized labor had come. My MW is coming by tomorrow evening to check out our house and get us situated for the birth and she'll draw blood to do the strep and some other tests. She won't do a vaginal exam until she has those results.

Hm, well, I guess I am a pessimist. The baby is way dropped, midwife said his head was "well engaged" down into my pelvis. TONS of pressure, pain, etc. Lots of stringy cervical discharge (probably plug) and I can feel that my cervix is dialated... and yet, I am in denial. LOLOL I mean, I am horrible. I was induced with my first and just can't imagine actually going into labor. I keep thinking, omg, I am 38 weeks, I guess it WILL be happening soon, and yet, I can't wrap my brain around it.

Leos, I'm right there with you!

Induced at 41+ weeks last time and DD was just as engaged and down there and I was dilated....nope. Don't believe this one could possibly come early (maybe on time) despite this one being equally low, etc. (don't know if dilated, I have that GBS test next week)...but am too freaked that I'll think it's early again and then have to wait....and wait....and wait....and wait!!!

We really should be packing some bags, though, huh?

Hehehhee, yep, we SHOULD. I am going to actually pack a small one today.

This kinda reminds me when I don't pack until right before big trips because I can't believe I am actually going somewhere!!!

Mine is packed and in the car. We have a note on the door that says to grab the camera & my toothbrush - everything else is in the car, including the car seat :LOL

Oh no - you are not serious, right? Does the head being engaged mean you can go much earlier?

This baby dropped at 32 weeks (almost 3 weeks ago). I really, really hope nothing happens in the next 8 days, because my dh is going abroad on thursday!

Okay, from all that I have read/heard, first time babies drop way in advance. Subsequent babies may or may not drop, and often don't drop until labor is in progress. Either way, this kiddo has been pretty well engaged the last week and I am 38+ weeks, and still not into labor. So, take all of that with a grain of salt.

I DO have the carseat installed! I never did pack a bag the other night. Today though for sure. LOL

When I went into labor with ds (1 week early0, my bag was half-packed, and when I was at the hospital, I was kicking myself for not bringing more comforts along. My labor with him was crazy (water broke early, had to keep getting antibiotic iv's, etc.) so I didn't grab much when we left the house.
We are all getting close, and it sounds like there is some good pre-labor going on. Be prepared so you can take care of yourself and feel good after the baby comes!
Sending out lots of good labor vibes to all of you!
