OK, same thing is happening as happened with my 1st. Actually worse. Im having a hard time stomaching anything that isnt either a scrambled egg and cheese sandwich or milk... I had oatmeal for breakfast and it was "meh"......

I ate soe much cheese and dairy in general with my dd1, that I think in cotributed to her intolerance of dairy in her early months - and it was hard to wean myself off of dairy since I had been such an addict throughout pregnancy....
SO.
Im thinking it is a protien or calcium or something like that need that is kicking in pretty hardcore.... Anyone have any non-puke-worthy ideas that are lower dairy?

Maybe explore some other hot grains and mix in nuts. Almonds have awesome calcium and I think that millet might too. Millet with peaches and almonds is one of our fav breakfasts! Dark leafy greens are high in calcium as well (kale, spinach, mustard greens, broccoli). Maybe some easy miso soup with tofu and (if you like it seaweed). The tofu has extra protein and calcium, the seaweed (or substitute leafy greens) has great calcium, and the miso is a good digestive aid and easy on the stomach. It was my best friend during my first pregnancy!

Red Raspberry leaf tea is also really high in calcium and while it doesn't have protein, is a much better preggo drink than milk.

Other good sources of calcium are beans and legumes, blackstrap molasses (good for iron too!), nettle tea, nuts, quinoa, soy milk, seeds (especially sesame), and soy yogurt. Maybe give these a go?

THANK YOU!
I actually pulled up this post on my iphone while I was at WF today and picked up a few things accordingly.
Specifically, I picked up millet - no idea what to do with it, all I do know is that you are supposed to soak the grains overnight, right? :/

Also, I like miso, I had some freeze dried in the pantry stuff- Miso Cup kind? I made some up yesterday and it was YUK EEEEW.....

I traded in my warm, ooey gooey cheesy egg sammy for a warm, ooey gooey peanut butter and strawberry fruit spread sammy on Ezekiel bread today.. I feel pretty satisfied, suprisingly!! I still really want a glass of milk....

Oh (edit)
I forgot to ask-- RRL tea- is that OK at only 6 weeks??

The Miso paste is a billion times better than the freeze dried stuff. If you get a yellow or white miso the taste is super light. I make a simple soup with some boxed veggie broth, heat it a minute on the stove, remove from heat and stir in a tsp of miso paste. If you want to do tofu ( I can't digest it) boil it in the broth a few minutes.

My fave right now is TLT sandwiches with tempeh bacon. It is fermented soy- so much better for you than tofu and easier to digest. I love the taste and it makes a great fake BLT sandwich.

Ya, the boxed stuff is nasty, go for the light paste!

Here is how you cook millet (instructions from Cynthia Lair's Feeding the Whole Family):

1 cup millet
2-3 cups water
pinch sea salt

Rinse and drain 2 or 3 times (the outer coating on the grains are bitter). Place the millet in a dry skillet or pan and dry toast (optional, but it makes it taste soooo good!). To do this, heat until it is dry and gives off a nutty aroma, stirring constantly (book always say 5-7 min., but it seems like it takes a little longer for me). Add the water to the toasted millet. Use 2 cups water for a fluffy grain. Use 3 cups of water for a creamier grain. Bring water, millet, and a pinch of salt to boil, lower heat, cover and simmer 30-40 minutes, until all the water is absorbed.

We love eating this either instead of oatmeal (with lots of goodies added) or in places where we would use rice or couscous. So good! One of the best grains for pregnancy and breastfeeding!

I'm not dealing with nausea -yet- but I have noticed that I get NOXIOUS gas when I drink milk! yikes! Never had that pre-pregnancy, although I didn't have milk very often. My DS had a milk-protein intolerance and an egg protein intolerance, so I've been wondering pretty much the same thing. Do you like refried beans? One of my comfort foods is refried beans mixed with Mexican rice, YUM! You can do an easy Mexican (and non-authentic too, I'm sure!) rice by adding a cup of salsa, 2 cups water, 1 cup rice, bring to a boil and simmer on low til done (20 min. for white, 45-50 for brown). I love me some beans, Pasta Fagioli is a yummy comfort food. Do you eat meat? Maybe fry up some Canadian bacon and do slightly less cheese than usual with that morning sandwich? The pb & j sounds delicious, I need to go get some of that Ezekiel 4:29 bread. YUM. And I know it's naturally high in protein. Can you drink almond chocolate milk, or Rice dream? I know that with the soy if you overdo it you can have the same intolerance probs as with dairy or eggs
