I just had a terrible appointment with our regular doc's replacement for DS's school physical. (Full story is here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...72#post5752172)

Our regular family doctor (in Avon) is on medical leave, and the doctor who is seeing his patients in the meantime called me "uneducated" about vax and generally treated me very poorly and unprofessionally.

I don't know when our doc will be back, but there is no way I am ever going to see this guy again. I don't even know if I should go get the incomplete medical form (which he still has in his possession, pending DS's TB test, hematocrit, and lead level test), just leave it and get another one with a different doc, or let him finish it.

I really need a rec for a ped or family doc in the Winsted, Torrington, and Litchfield area, over toward Canton and Simsbury.

Thanks!

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

DS goes to school in Litchfield so I am willing to go over that way or as far south to Waterbury. I'm willing to travel to be treated like a human being.

We see Cindy St. Onge in Avon. So far (and ds2 is only 6 weeks old), she hasn't pushed the vaxes. And I specifically told her we were probably not vaxing and she was very non-chalant about it and seemed ok with it. Of course, time will tell...

The Family Practice Group in Middletown, Portland, and East Hampton has been a good fit for us. I'm EBFing, nursed through pregnancy and tandeming now, raising our children vegetarian, not vaxing (we did one HiB series with dd and aren't doing anything else, not doing any with ds), refused a fair amount of pregnancy testing . . . and our docs have been fine with all of it. We see a resident D.O., Jill Moorcroft, and have seen her husband Tom (also a D.O.) as backup and I love them both.

We also see Thomas Moorcroft at the E. Hampton Family Practice Group - he was very supportive of delayed/selective vaxing (that is our current path) and am sure he would also be supportive of non-vaxing - seems so as what earthmama has experienced. This would be a bit of a drive for you but I am sure well worth it.

Good Luck!
