Go get there take Ronald Reagan to Bethesda Church Road and follow the signs to the park(and senior center). You will turn right into the park entrance and then left to go to the playground. Please post here if you plan on coming. This is so exciting!!!!

Hi,

Been posting on the other thread and then saw this one! Would love to come play with ladies on Friday, but I'm not sure where you're at. Could someone please give directions from 85 (traveling North) as I'm a Dekalb Mama and not real familiar with Gwinnett. T

Thank you,
Kimba

Hey Kimba-glad you're coming! Here are directions from 85 north.
Exit Pleasant Hill Road and turn right. You will do a "loop around" and get onto Ronald Reagan Parkway (there's only one direction, since it's the beginning of the road). Exit at Bethesda Church Road and turn right. The park will be immediately on your right. Just follow the signs to the playground. This should take you 10-15 minutes from 85 to the park, depending on traffic.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi ladies and cute kiddies! Just had to say how much I enjoyed today. It was great meeting you and talking with you and seeing the children play. Hope we can do it again.

Hi Mamas,

Taran & I had a great time, too! I would love to do this regularly -- maybe once or twice a month (for starters) -- I have no idea what schedules everyone has.

The homeschool book I spoke of was.... And the skylark sings with me: adventures in Homeschooling and community-based education by David H. Albert. I've enjoyed reading it, and it made me look at homeschooling in a whole new light -- I think I might read it again this weekend (ah, I love my job at the library).

I was very excited to meet some more homeschooling families with toddlers/pre-schoolers. I would definitely be interested in starting a local community.

everyone,

We had a great time as well, although the wee ones are a bit red.
I'm all for meeting once or twice a month, maybe we can meet at a variety of playgrounds.

Thanks for the homeschool book info! Talking with all of you has inspired me to start doing my homework as far as homeschooling preparation. I also feel a good deal less intimidated about it.
Hope to see you all soon!

Robin

Are you familiar with Mountain Park Park? That's not a typo! It's actually in Mountain Park (near Lilburn), fairly close to the intersection of Five Forks Trickum and Rockbridge Roads. They have two playgrounds. One is perfect for the under-2 crowd but also nicely accommodates the 3-year olds as well. The other playground is geared for all age children and also has a shaded sandbox. Beside this playground is a wonderful shaded area where we could have our picnics.

It's one of my favorite parks, but you all decide if it's centrally located.
