Hi,
My name is Selena and I am mother to Cerys (age 3 1/2 and Keiran (age 16 months). I just moved to North Kitsap County and am anxious to connect with other moms. I moved here from Northern Virginia where I helped lead an AP/Natural Parenting group called Families for Natural Living (website is: www.familiesfornaturalliving.org - website is being updated and will be relaunched in late October) . As a group we had weekly meetings, workshops on various subjects like knitting, homemade eco-cleansers, soap making, baking, card making, we also had potlucks, a bartering group, a mom's night out etc.. Basically we have tried to create an strong supportive community. At our meetings we discussed topics like vaccinations, alternative education, organic food, organic gardening, weaning your toddler, natural healing and lots more. This is a non-profit organization that offers support to families who parent naturally.

At the moment I am really missing that community so I have decided to once again start another group in North Kitsap, Washington. I am planning an organization meeting for October although I do not have a date yet. At this meeting we would discuss how often to meet, where to meet, what people would like out of this group and who would like to participate in helping run it.

If you live in North Kitsap or you would like to come to our meetings occasionally then please join the email list:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NorthKitsapFNL/
If our group interest you at all but you are unable to come to our area, then still please join our email list as it is very informative and you can ask any questions you might have about living naturally.

You can also email me privately with any questions:
I hope many of you respond. It is such a wonderful feeling to build a community with like minded people. And it is also wonderful to learn from each other and teach each other all that we have to offer.
warmly,
At the moment we are going to look for a planning meeting in November, hopefully the beginning of the month. Even if there is just a handful of people, it would be great to start connecting. When do you arrive Monica? Good luck on your move. We just did the same and boy is it tiring. We have been in our house for a month and are hardly unpacked. But the move was definitely worth it and we are planning not to move again!
Yah!!!
I look forward to meeting both of you in near future!
warmly,
Selena
