Like sore throat and stuffy nose and swollen glands.
:

Not a great way to be in my 39th week of pregnancy! It is making me ALL kinds of nervous. I need to have all my energy for labor, not fighting off some silly cold or upper respiratory infection.

Any advice?

i'm in the same boat at 37 weeks. stuffy nose, sore throat, head/sinus blocked. i feel icky....dh has it also and ds got over it a few days ago...before i got it.

i am thinking about going to the store and getting some zinc...maybe something to help knock it out of me but i have no idea what would be good or safe....ugh. to much to think.....

my m/w told me last time that your body knows when it's a good time to go into labor and it just won't if you're not feeling well. (I got sick at about 39 weeks as well). I think you can take echinacea too, and you definitely can take some vitamin C!

Not to get your hopes up... but my mom told me that with my birth, she felt like she had the cold/flu for about 24 hours before labor started... she thinks it was just her body getting her ready for labor (little extra rest and taking care of herself)...

I've been waiting anxiously for my "cold"... hope you feel better soon, one way or another!

This would "Excite" me except dh has it too - he is much worse off than me at this point - which I am trying to stave off with all of the above mentioned rememdies. The only thing worse than going into labor with a cruddy URI, is for dh to be really sick with it too.

yikes, it seems a lot of us are sick! I got a cold/sinus infection a week ago friday, and it's still lingering

When I saw my midwife last week, she said "oh are you sick!? I'm sorry, I gave you my cold!" ... ummmm, yeah, that's what I need from my m/w!

I hope everyone feels better! I'm cranking up my vitamin C, and I think I'll get some zinc as the pp's recommended.
