Let me just preface this by saying that most of the time I LOVE to bf.

The past couple of nights, I have really not wanted to nurse dd to sleep. Like REALLY not want to. And when I do, I just.want.her.off. NOW. It seems like she nurses FOREVER. And its not eating, its comfort sucking. Which doesn't bother me during the day, I don't know wha'ts wrong. Has anyone else dealt with this and have any suggestions? Dd is only 5 months old and I feel horrible that I resent this. This is what she needs right now, but its making me a very grumpy angry mommy. Like I said, I love nusing during the day and even at night, but its that time when she's bf to sleep that's causing a problem. Again, has anyone dealt with this and have suggestions? Thanks!

It could be hormonal - I've heard that happens during pregnancy and I bet it could happen if your cycle is coming back. Are either of those a possibility?

the comfort sucking drove me batty. that's why we kept offering a pacifier, and she finally started taking it around 5 months. now, don't ask me how we'll ever get rid of the darn thing

it just sounds like being touched out. the eating never bothered me. the relentless flutter sucking did--still does, but we have a binky now
everyone's different--don't feel bad. find a way to try to meet both of your needs a bit better.

could be thrush too, many women have this feeling + a slight tingly/burning sensation afterwards (not a letdown) However, this sounds completely hormonal and related to either pregnancy, cycle or a return of cycle (if you haven't got it yet). I'd be prepaired to get a . real soon.

I miss comfort sucking. My LO stopped at 3 months. I used to plan an hour of it in before bed time. It was like meditation hour. (and I could watch some tv!) Now he is much too distracted n busy to bother.

My opinion is that it will change. Enjoy things for what they are now. As mothers I notice the main rule is being able to adapt to the changs in our LOs on a drop of a dime.
