I got the results from my blood work today and it isn't exactly what I was hoping for. On Friday my hCG level was 111.7 and my progesterone was 21.9. On Sunday my hCG only rose to 147.5 and my progesterone dropped to 14.5. They typically like to see hCG double in a 48 hour period. I go in tomorrow for more blood work and they won't get the results from that until Wednesday. Praying that this isn't another ectopic pregnancy and that this LO will continue to grow.

It not so much the progesterone I'm worried about. I am not crazy about it dropping and, yes, I have had progesterone levels that high with previous ectopics but it is more the hCG not even coming close to doubling that worries me. I did get some news that is reassuring though. My doctor said that the lab that tested me (I had to go to a different one because it was over the holiday weekend) is great if you just want a positive pregnancy test but he doesn't exactly trust their numbers. The blood work I did today is with a different lab and I will have the results tomorrow. So maybe the bad numbers are really just that, bad numbers.

I've never known what any of my numbers are so that doesn't mean much to me. I hope all is well and the numbers are much higher tomorrow.

I hope it doesn't mean what you think. Are you having ultrasounds done? Did they give any hope over the phone?

I have an ultrasound tomorrow morning at 8am and then a visit with the NP at 8:30. The doctor is in surgery tomorrow morning so she will consult with him after he is done then call me. I was mostly left with the feeling that it doesn't look good but it doesn't mean it is an ectopic.

I hate the HCG game, I hate it but I also feel like it is at least good to be informed...even when it is not the best news. I had a miscarriage in July...HCG first draw was something like 192, then the second time 232, then 297....and then I started to bleed. I felt like at least the bleeding didn't hit from nowhere, I kind of knew...but I also researched in SO many places and found that really only 85% of women have HCG that doubles, that some women in fact don't follow that rule, that there were women there who had slow rising HCG and perfectly normal pregnancies and babies...so I hoped to be in that group, I wasn't at the time, but I can still hope that you are. Fingers crossed...and sticky vibes to you!

just want you to know that you arent alone....my numbers arent right either...i hate this waiting game. my first hcg was 977.....48 hrs later it was only 1027.....doc called to tell me it "might to be a healthy pregnancy and i need to be retested"......went 5 days later (due to holiday and weekend) and i almost tripled, so now he's not sure what is going on and i'm scheduled for a ultrasound on monday. progesterone was 18ish. i've been doing internet research for a week straight.....most of what i read said that an ultrasound is more reliable than hcg numbers. good luck.
