When is newborn acne supposed to go away? DS is almost 12mos and he still has under-the-skin white heads that move up from his checks toward the skin under his eyes and then sometime sort of scabe over.

Anyone familiar with a treatment or what this might be please?

The condition is called "milia" actually and the stuff on the hair/head is called cradle cap.

You can try gently using a washcloth and the baby soap or a solution (completed watered down, completed diluted mixture) of baking and water in a baking soda bath to wipe your baby's face. Do not scrub, pinch, or be rigorous.

Milia usually goes away on it's own, but gentle 'baby-friendly' wiping/exfoliation won't hurt. The stimulation of the washcloth on skin and muscles is actually good for the baby's blood circulation (that's why baby massages are great). Again, no scrubbing, just gentle wipes.

After the bath, you can put your favorite baby oil or rub some olive oil in your hands and moisturize your baby. Use some on yourself too - olive oil is non-comedogenic, non-allergenic, and soaks into your skin very, very well
