Brady is precious!

Listen? Hahahahahahaha
: We are having serious food issues- he won't eat meals. All he wants to eat is snacks- and DH is part of the problem.
He gives him crap for breakfast( I cannot get up at 5am when DS1 gets up so DH gets up with him), and will cave to the whining and give him cookies( which he buys because I won't buy them) or ice cream or whatever. Then he won't eat the nutricious meals that I c ook and it is driving me batty.

I went to the doc and I have lost another 4 lbs, so that is 42lbs since 1/30. ( including what I lost at the birth) I really have been trying to eat well and want to start excersizing again( when I can figure out how to do the gym with 2 newborns) but I don't want to compromise my supply by losing too fast. I haven't been trying to lose, as a matter of fact I have been eating and drinking( water) like mad.

Babies went to the doc and they have moved to the 25th percentile for weight from 3-5%ile.
Catherine is 9#11 and David is 10#11.

Behold the power of mama milk

Sorry I've been MIA- I' don't get much typing time. Ineed to go back and catch up.....

You gotta love the fact that breastfeeding burns calories.

for the babes.

Sure, if you say something you don't want them to hear!

We're going through a poking-the-dog/slapping/hair-pulling phase, which can't end fast enough for me. On the other hand, I tell him the word for something and he remembers it from that point forward, which is pretty cool. I like being able to carry on conversations with him! He freaks out about the funniest things in this drama-queen way...the neighbor's fifteen-year-old, who he loves, was playing with a squirt gun and misted his leg a little. DS said, "BE CAREFUL, Kevin - my leg wet!" When we tell him it's time to go inside, he collapses dramatically on the floor...for about three seconds. Then he pops up and goes inside.
We're not having a whole lot of success with PT. A couple of days ago, he was playing at the far side of the room while DH and I sat on the couch. DH called him over (just for a snuggle) and he grabbed his butt and said, "NO POOP!" Paranoid, are we?
After I change him when he *is* poopy, we have to say bye-bye to the poop as it flushes, then he dances around singing, "I'm pooooping...I'm poooping...I'm poooping..." which would be great if he actually was. He's going to spend the summer in the backyard with no pants on, I can tell.

hi everyone! just a driveby to let you know things are going okay here. we've all been sick with something or somethings... still recovering. then yesterday i managed to take a misstep off a curb and hurt my ankle... it's all bruised up but at least i can walk on it. thankfully didn't drop miss millie, who was in my arms at the time (she was a little freaked out by the backbend she did upon my spill, though).

just took her to the doc for her 6-month checkup and she's 15lb 9oz and somewhere around 26" long (can never really trust those measurements because she's not exactly cooperative about strecthing out and holding still). i'll post new pictures eventually.

right now i gotta get back to catching up on work, because in addition to my spill yesterday i also had an evil all-day headache that got me all nauseous too... so i didn't do squat once getting home but try and keep the kids happy from a half-reclined position and occasional jic dashes to the bathroom.

...and at what point to they stop asking questions they know the answer to?
I don't dare give the wrong answer.

tammi, thanks! she's much better, still coughing, though.

Nonny, we pretend to cry when we get hit, to show her that it hurts, and tell her to kiss where she hit us. We also say, "use gentle touches" (thanks Bec!
) and have her pat or stroke our faces gently. If the hitting/hair pulling doesnt stop after that, then its time-out time...which is a fate worse than death, lol.

Lori, I hope your ankle gets better soon.
Glad to hear Millie didnt get hurt. I've heard that when a mama takes a spill holding a baby, the mama gets hurt way worse trying to keep the baby from getting hurt.

Henry's mama and Amis2girls,
that is driving me nuts too! Unfortunately, i babysat a 3 year old girl who was still doing this...so I guess it doesnt end for awhile!!

forgot to add,

I cant keep Sage in her bed at night anymore! It would be ok if when she got up, she came and slept with us, but instead, she gets up, turns on the TV and watches cartoons...and even THAT would be fine if she would lay on the couch and go to sleep, but she will fight sleep so she can watch cartoons.
: Anyone have any ideas on what we could do?

the only solution i have come up with is to unplug the tv at night, but we have the kind of tv that if it gets unplugged, it will erase all the channels and then it takes forever to readjust and reprogram once it has power again, and then some of the channels wont show up and I have to go through them one by one and add them to the memory. Basically, its a huge hassle! LOL!

You could get a tv Guard that blocks the buttons. Babiesrus sells them. I have the one that goes directly over the buttons and some nice strong velcro holds it there. I had to get them because Jelly wouldnt stop shutting the tv off on her brother.
This is the one i have. It's 10 inches long. On Jonathans tv I had to use tape because all his buttons were exactly 10 in so i had no where to put the velcro. On my parlor tv the velcro is working great.

Or maybe a gate that will block her from getting into the living room?
or can your tv block out cartoon channels with parental controls?

Or if you can't gate off your living room, maybe you can gate off a portion of your hallway (she can get to only the bedrooms, not anywhere else). Double high gates work well for gate climbers.

We have our tv in an entertainment armoire with doors that close. It requires just the right angle to open the doors, so if you're interested in redecorating, you could do that.

No other thoughts.
thanks guys. Sage is definately a gate climber, and DH would flip if I bought another gate to put on top of our old one...he hates the gates b/c he always forgets they are there at night and trips over them.

I might be able to make one of those baby button guards! I have some sticky-back velcro, and I could probably just use a hard wooden ruler or something to go over the buttons...Hmmmm...

Thanks guys!

The button blockers have a 1in lip on each side though. with a ruler she would still be able to push buttons, all the buttons at once i bet.

Bumping us b/c we were on PAGE 3. Where is everyone?

I've been nursing another gastro-intestinal illness all weekend, and finally consented (guiltily) to some immodium. Feeling a tad better now. For some reason, this pregnancy just seems harder than Henry's. Maybe that means delivery will be easier?
