Hello Everyone!
It's APRIL, can you believe it?

Please come and chat and play with us !

We have a 147 (!!!) babies, and almost as many chatty mommas. Our little ones are walking, talking, and growing up so fast. They are riding bikes, speaking several languages, playing with their friends, swimming, and playing in the snow! Many now have little sisters and brothers, many do not, too.
Some are sleeping through the night, and others are still waking up and up and up.

I'm treasuring all the little joys; I hope you are too.

So what are your Spring and Summer plans? How is it going day to day? How are all your relationships going? Do you like where you are living? Are you moving? Do you like what you are doing? Any new babies on the way?

Any advice you'd like to have or to give? Any tips on making life a little easier or more fun?

Do join us ! Yes, we're still "open" to join

And now for our little ones

Greetings from the UK!

What's happening with Millie? Well she is now completely toilet trained - we've had about 3 accidents in the past month! Am so proud of her!

We have Easter holidays over here at the mo so I have 2 weeks off and so does big sister Jess plus no daycare for Millie (she only goes while I'm in school!) but poor dh has to still work!!! We have a long weekend next weekend and will be going up to see dh's family near Manchester including his niece who is 11 days older than Millie.

My girls had haircuts this morning and Millie said Jess looks "pitty!" She chats away incessantly and makes us laugh because she can say long complicated words like "caterpillar" and "helicopter" perfectly but calls grandad "ganga"!!

and today Millie astounded us by pedalling her tricycle completely unaided! It's one with a pole and she's managed a bit of independent pedalling down a slight hill but she went a long way today on the flat!!

Hey mamas! I am C&P this from out last thread - I need some guidance!!!

"I took DD to her first dentist appt on Monday. I expected it to be pretty routine but it turned out to be anything but. The place was fantastic and DD was really cooperative and comfortable but the dentist found a huge cavity on the back of the top front tooth, the one that came in half-split. He also found 2 other minor cavities but was only concerned about the big one.

He couldn't explore too deeply but will have to get in there and major work might need to be done (fill and cap or extraction, root canal, bridge). He said they could try to do it in office using a non-IV sedation with the stuff called Versed but he said that at this age they are still aware of what's going on and could be traumatic for her. Even if it didn't, he could get in there and find something that needs a hospital visit so we'd be having 2 procedures (one in hospital) He gave the option of general anethesia in the hospital so he could do whatever might need to be done all in one shot.

I'm leaning towards the latter just to have one visit and get whatever needs to be done done but the thought general anethesia is terrifying!!! I am sooooo worried and unsure what to do. Anyone had to do this before?"

I know when DD1 has had awful cavity issues, we've sought 2nd opinions...Can you seek a 2nd opinion?

She sounds so sporty! Hurray for Millie!

MC - I agree with 2GC - a 2nd opinion never hurts. Especially since that sounds like a lot of work, and maybe on her adult teeth. Have never had teeth problems, but DS has been under general anesthesia multiple times, to put in ear drains. More stressful for us than him.

I have 10 days off, between vacation days and easter holiday. We are renting a cottage at an indoor swiming pool and play area with friends for the weekend, then heading down to visit DHs parents early next week. DS and DD are having a blast.

At the moment I'm very frustrated. I p*ssed off a whole evening painting; finished a large 100x140 cm (40 x 55 inch) painting, signed it, and then put a protective gel on the top, only to have it ruined it when the gel turned to whitish foam!

This is awful. Perhaps it will appeal to someone? Perhaps you have started a new style of painting?

Thanks, but no, unless it is the style of vomit! I'll try and repaint it today.

How is your european trip coming along?

What's everyone's DCs up to these days? Nothing new here. Lea's comments are funny, she's preoccupied with male and female, but of course instead of clarifying with she is a girl or he is a boy, she says "hun har en tissekone, lige som mig" or "har han en tissemand, lige som Kristoffer?" (she has a yoni, just like me" or "does he have a penis, like DS?) The danish translation for genitalia is literally "peeing man" and "peeing wife."

Potty training is going well here too. I didn't think DS was going to take to it since he would often say "lub nappies" However we found some crocodile pants (he's loves crocodiles) and bought a bag of jelly beans
: and so far he's doing really well.

DS is just starting to draw recognisable faces, so far a circle with two eyes and sometimes a mouth.

Right now both kids are out in the garden, we bought a toddler trampoline last night so I'm hoping they will wear themselves out today.

Hello!

I have a Nov '06 baby....who today smeared Vaseline all over the floor and wicker furniture, played in the cat's litter box, and probably several other shenanigans we've yet to discover! :p

Her name is Callie and she was born on November 18th!

Thanks for adding us,
Rebecca

Callie and her mamma!

Can someone count how many little ones this brings us to?

I just had to post a few pics from the other night. I was making dinner and it suddenly seemed all too quiet in the house - not the good kind of quiet if you know what I mean
I looked around the house and DD was nowhere to be found so I thought she was playing "hide seeking" which she loves to do recently.

I'm walking around the house checking her usual spots and I walk by the garage door and hear a bunch of squawking, more than the usual chickens-in-the-garage sound.

This is what I found

She though she was pretty funny

I didn't think she could get herself up in it and the latch undone

While it was a funny moment I worried about the heat lamp in it even though she knows it is hot and not to be touched. DP rigged a different toddler proof lock on it.

Never a dull moment huh?

DD is very tantrummy lately, and today at the sitter's she bit the other little girl there and pinched her too. She was upset about sharing a toy. Later she absolutely screamed when we tried to put her in the car seat.

I guess what I am wondering is what is normal in terms of toddler anger? And how do I handle the biting/hurting of the other kids? We talk about that, and DD immediately says sorry, but she keeps doing it.

THanks for the help, and I will post about our teeth issues soon, too.

We're geting a lot of this behaviour, too! Getting dressed in the morning is a real ordeal - she doesn't want to put on this, or that, or the other one....

We're not getting the biting or hurting. We know another little girl who does, though and has gone after DD repeatedly in a Waldorf playgroup. It got to the point where the little girl was asked to leave. It is hard to break, but what can help is exclusion of the biter from the other kids and attention to the victims.
