Welcome to November! Whether you're exercising to maintain or lose weight, to avoid watching too much TV, to spend more time with your children/family and friends, to get out and enjoy the colder weather (or go inside to escape the colder weather), or for other health reasons like to ease back pain, I hope you join me in exercising.

For those who need ideas:
Walking
Bicycling
Riding an exercise bike
Jogging or running
Swimming if you can find a heated pool
Lifting weights
Stretching
Parking further away, taking the stairs
I'm sure you could think of more.

Be careful, enjoy yourself, and have a great time - and you don't have to limit yourself to 1,000 minutes. Feel free to set your goal lower to fit your and your family's needs (or to accommodate pain), or to set your goal higher if you think you have that much time and the ability to exercise despite the cold. :)

11/2 walked 1 mile, checked the mail from yesterday, and watered the plants - 40 + 1 30 minute mile walked + 30 minutes riding my exercise bike = 100
100/2,000

11/3 50 minutes of picking up sticks + walked 1 mile, checked the mail, and watered plants for 45 minutes + 15 minutes riding my exercise bike = 110
100 + 110 = 210/2,000

Good Morning everyone!

Hello Catholic Mama! My little virtual workout buddy!

Happy November!

I am trying for 1500 this month. Again! Working on getting my hip happy.

11/1 - 90 minutes walking and jogging at XC State Championship
11/2 - off
11/3 - 55 minutes running
11/4 - off

Welcome back lab! A virtual workout buddy is better than no workout buddy at all!

My goal with this month's workouts, as it has been all summer, it to be able to fit into all of my skirts.

11/4 2 miles before sunset, 50 minutes
11/5 30 minute walk
11/6 picked up sticks and watered the plants for 65 minutes (that time includes my stretches so far this week) + 1 mile and checked the mail, 30 + 1 mile holding my daughter's hand, 30...even though I walk more slowly when holding a little one's hand, it feels like more work because they're pulling me back a little and I'm still trying to walk at my usual pace, so I still count that in my time = 125
50 + 30 + 125 = 205
210 + 205 = 415/2,000

11/7 1 mile, watered plants, and checked the mail - 40 minutes + 2 miles, 55 minutes + 20 minutes riding my exercise bike = 115
415 + 115 = 530/2,000

11/8 1 30 minute mile + 30 minute walk + 10 minutes riding my exercise bike = 70 - I lost a pound that morning!
11/9 my children's birthday party :)
11/10 4 miles, approximately 100 minutes
11/11 40 minutes of walking including 1 mile
11/12 45 minutes of walking including 1 mile, watering the plants, checking the mail, and stretching
70 + 100 + 40 + 45 = 255
530 + 255 = 785/2,000

11/14 4 miles, ~100 minutes (fed my neighbor's horses :)+ 20 minutes riding my exercise bike = 120
11/15 20 minute walk + 45 minutes walking including 1 mile wand watered the plants = 65
11/16 1 mile and watered the plants, 35 + 25 minute mile = 60
11/17 1 25 minute mile + 45 minutes riding my exercise bike = 70
11/18 20 minutes riding my exercise bike
11/19 10 minute walk + 15 minutes riding my exercise bike = 25
30 + 120 + 65 + 60 + 70 + 20 + 25 = 390
785 + 390 = 1,175/2,000

11/20 20 minutes of picking up sticks and watering the plants + 35 minute mile walked = 55
11/21 and 11/22 approximately 100 minutes of walking between the two days + 20 minutes riding my exercise bike tonight
55 + 120 = 175
1,175 + 175 = 1,250/2,000

I may not make my goal this month with less time outside due to colder weather and some rain, but the good news is that I went from 155 pounds a few weeks ago, to 154 for two weeks, to 153 this morning! :) The only thing that's changed is I've added an anti-sciatica stretch and a few exercises for my core before bed (when there is nobody to jump on me as I lay on the floor).

11/22 40 minute walk + 20 minutes riding my exercise bike = 60
11/23 1 25 minute mile walked + 30 minutes riding my exercise bike = 55
11/24 1 30 minute mile walked + 1 35 minute mile walked + 35 minutes of picking up sticks + 40 minutes including 1/2 mile and filled in a hole = 140
11/25 1 mile walked and picked up sticks for 50 minutes + 10 minutes collected trash and took it to the street + 5 minutes tested my exercise bike = 65
11/26 1 35 minute mile walked
11/27 1 25 minute mile walked = 20 minutes kicked my soccer ball around :) = 45
11/28 1 30 minute mile walked + 1 35 minute mile walked with 3 of my children = 65 and I'm not done yet :)
60 + 55 + 140 + 65 + 35 + 45 + 65 = 465
1,250 + 465 = 1,715/2,000 maybe I can do it after all!

also tonight (11/28): 70 total minutes riding my exercise bike
1,715 + 70 = 1,785/2,000
at least 25 minutes of stretches daily since the last time I recorded it, including 7 minutes tonight and an average of 2 minutes
1,785 + 25 = 1,810/2,000

11/29 1 mile, checked the mail, watered the plants 40 + 1 mile, got the mail (mailman wasn't there the first time) 30 + 1 30 minute mile walked before dinner = 100
1,810 + 100 = 1,910/2,000

11/30 1 25 minute mile walked + 2 30 minute walks + 5 minutes of stretching = 90
1,910 + 90 = 2,000/2,000 for the 8th month in a row, thanks be to God :)
