What a busy month October was! 566 posts! We are a bunch of chatty mamas. We celebrated big time during our 420th post. And we got our BROC ON! : : :

Our standing message:
We are the MJ Mamas and Papas. Our purpose is to talk, educate, inform and share information regarding the use of marijuana. Marijuana has many medicinal uses that the government has tried very hard to keep from us. Some people think that it is medically useful and less harmful than prescription medicines, that we are spending too much money on the war on drugs (especially marijuana), and that there are better things on which our government could be spending this money. Hemp, which has many wonderful non-medicinal uses, is also illegal in this country, and we are open to discussing this as well. We promote the use of this wonderful medicinal herb for morning sickness, glaucoma, cancer, AIDS, spiritual, etc., keeping in mind that it is important to use all things in harmony with yourself and others.

Have a kynd month .

THE GIFT EXCHANGE LIST IS NOW CLOSED

Here's how it works: The first poster (me), will give to the next poster, who will give to the next poster and on and on. The last person to say they're participating will then give to me. It will be your responsibility to pm or e-mail the poster after you, to get their address. Then when December rolls around, we can gather our goodies and mail them off. Our big gift opening day will be December 15th at 4:20 pm your time. So, get creative, think of things you have that you once loved, but are ready to pass on, or something that you've made, maybe even something MJ related (such as a shirt, or sticker). Let's try to not spend more than say $10 total (remember there's postage to pay too). But, you may need to buy crafting materials, etc. or a small extra thing to add to the collective fun box. Let's keep this for the mama's, we need somthing special 'cause we do so much for our kiddos. We'll mail them off at the beginning of DECEMBER! So, let's have fun with it!

I'm in too!!!!! How exciting. So, if its for the Holiday season in December, when should we have everything in the mail???? And this is for the mamma right??? not the kiddos???? Bear with me...I've never done anything like this before on line

Roth Mommy....look for smoke shops in the yellow pages....or tobacco shops....something like that.

mamaroni....I'm so glad your kids are healthy. They look so cute in their costumes!!! Did you decide on a senior title yet?? Maybe she needs more help ladies

The boys had a blast last night. They were super sweet and the little one wouldn't let go of his basket the whole night!!! He even got upset when I tried to sneak a chocolate bar out of his basket before we drove home Just like his mamma....protective of his chocolate!!!! The funny thing is is that he has NEVER eaten stuff like that, yet he knew it was pretty special!!!!! Smart boy!!!!

Hope everyone had a happy halloween!!!

OK, I added to the OP that this will be for the mams since we do so much for our kiddos already. Also, we'll mail them off at the beginning of December. What should be our opening date? Since we have different traditions here, let's pick a date for ourselves. How about the 15th? It'll be our own special holiday! Hey! We can open them at 4:20! How about that? Although, that would mean, I would be one of the last ones to get to open since I'm on the west coast. That's OK. I can wait!

Greetings and salutations mamas! Count me in for the exchange!

It's November...my gosh. My DS turns 3 on the 25th! Trying to plan a birthday party (for close family) and I'm at a loss. DS hasn't had a b-day party yet (well, if you count DH, me and him his first year, and then his birthday was on Thanksgiving last year) so I want to have something for him this year. I'm doing it the Sunday after Thanksgiving, as his birthday is on the day after Thanksgiving. That's a good day, right? I've made the invitations (with leftover card stock from DH and I's wedding invitations) but haven't written anything as far as date or time in them yet. It just says "It's a party" on the front, with three little wooden cutouts of an airplane, a train and a car glued onto the front. They're cute, but that's as far as i've gotten. I know I need to get on the ball about this, so I can send out the invites by Thursday or Friday. Anyone have any ideas to pass along, I'll gladly take them. I've never planned a birthday party before.

Anywhoodle, i'll catch you mamas later, gotta go take a shower. I don't stink so pretty. :

hi tyedyedyes!!! My Ds turns 5 on the 5th and i turn 30 on the 9th.....YEAHHHHH NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are planning a party for ds on his actual b-day...don't have much advice, but i did get some good ideas from searching the childhood years board.

We are having kids and their sibligs/parents. We'll have about 25 or so people total...so i'm really hoping for good weather so the kids can be outside for a bit. The party is from 12-3 and well have a bbq and snacks (chips and salsa/guac...veggies and dip....cheese and crackers) and of course a cake (carrot cake made with honey and cream cheese icing). I am trying to avoid all things sugar!! Ds is sensitive to it anyway, but usually at kids parties there is this barrage of sugar and it gets outta hand IMO. I bought some party favors through magic cabin dolls and also some pencils and stickers. My big favor though are magic wands that Dh and I have made. They came out really cool. The faovrs (except the wands) will go into a game called pass the parcel. It is a layered package and it gets passed around to music. When the music stops, whoever has the package opens a layer and gets whatever is inside. I'm also thinking of setting up a talbe to make sock puppets and to play with homemade playdough if the kids want...totaly unorganized. I'm not sure how many activities 5 yr olds need. They seem to mostly like to play with each other. A lot depends though on the weather.
So, thats what were doing. This is only my 2nd party for him. Don't know if any of that helps at all??? I've been planning since Oct cause if not, it all gets away from me and then BOOM its here and I have nothing ready
Hope you have a blast!!! I think it is a nice day that you picked, especially because everyone will have been off work etc for a few days, so they will be ready to come and have fun!!!!

This seems like a good place for me to hang out, so I'm going to subscribe and read for a while. TTC for 1 1/2 years, recently diagnosed with endo and have a lap scheduled for Friday. I occasionally smoke to help with menstrual migraines and stopped for a long time while TTC. I recently took it up again because I was so depressed with the infertility problems, and it was either that or Zoloft, which would have been much worse for a possible fetus, IMO. It's helping a lot and I'm feeling a lot stronger, lately. It's also been nice to again have an alternative to popping 1/2 bottle of tylenol when I get a migraine.

OK, I'll just sit back and listen for a while. Nice to meet everyone.

Still sick, but hoping to be feeling better soon enough. Mama Faery you inspired me! I signed up for NaNoWriMo, too. Just this morning, and I was walking to my office I was thinking about the novel I've always wanted to write, and asked myself why not do it just for fun. Well I need some inspiration, and thanks to you, I think I have some. I wish you luck. Wish me luck, too! I just want to get 30 pages. That's my goal.

welcome CAJen and hookahgirl!

good luck with the party tyedyedeyes. earth angel has some great ideas. we have in the past cooked out or ordered pizza, and just had a few snacks as well. I've done different little party favors -- but nothing so special and handmade liek earth angel's wands! maybe you could do a pinanta? I know that's a ton of sugar, though. unless you put "prizes" in it. you can buy small inexpensive trinkets at target or one of those big party supply stores. I've had a few BIG ones (where kids and parents come) and it's fun but I'm about done with that. it's just a lot of work and I don't get to relax. my oldest just turned 5 and we had a moonwalk which was a huge hit. since we did that I didn't do any favors. anyway, i'm as usual. good luck!

darkstar, sorry you're having a bummer morning! I'm sure you'll do fine on the test. will you be able to reschedule it?

mama faery, that sounds really cool. I'll have to check that out.

oh, and earth angel, I like the name you came up with. I just need to get it together and ask CM to give it to me!! I was sort of waiting for elsanne to give us the proper spanish too. Green Sun Goddess? how do you say that in spanish, oh elsanne??

in sharp contrast to my tuesday afternoon last week, today I have 2 kids at school and one napping. : :
