"Now that it's cold season it's a good excuse to get all your vaccinations!" -SIL

What was THAT about? Pretty random thought on thanksgiving. I am thankful for once my SIL doesn't have bronchitus and all her children at a family dinner though.

Anyway.. gee golly.. is polio and chicken pox more prevalent in the winter? What part of my child tested positive for autism, not even high function autism, just autism.. part didn't you get?

random rant:

Is it ok for her to have pie? No she doesn't eat gluten. She has never eaten gluten and now she's allergic to potatoes.. not that there's that in vaccs but still.

I gave in and said she could have the pie innards (I was wearing out) but no way in heck was I eating it as I would probably die from contamination. Fortunately I was handed the plate with chunks of crust in it first so I got to pick it out.

Eating gluten free is not being a picky eater.. no gluten means NO gluten.. NO pie crust even a little bit.

Well thank god! I've just been standing around here looking for a good reason to shoot my child up and now I have one! What a relief.

We vaccinate some, and we won't vaccinate when somebody is even slightly sick! Ugh, what was she thinking?

If I had to go to family dinners I think I would take some gluten free foods for all to enjoy but especially my child. Your child eats fod that is bad for them, and you are the one dealing with it for hours/days later not the *family*.

Don't know what to say about SILs vacciantion comment except let her family dose up with boosters and seasonals.Just watch out if anyone gets a nasal vaccine!

I brought sweet potatoes for everyone ;) (Plus she had purees. rice, formula in her bag which she had later) I actually had everything together to make a GF pumpkin pie but ended up not taking it due to my own greed :x

Well SIL's kids are ALWAYS sick. So I guess their vaccines aren't kicking in well.

I made the mistake of mentioning to my mother that I'm sick AGAIN. I do not consider myself a sickly person, but I got hit with 2 minor illnesses (like a cold) in a row, and then got bronchitis. All within about 3 weeks.

So my mother said "well, you know what I'm going to say." Idiot me, I confessed I didn't have a clue. "You should get your flu shot!" I asked her why, as I was honestly befuddled as to her line of reasoning. I wish I could remember her answer but it was just some patter.

Don't you know that tetanus, polio and diptheria thrive in the cold temps? And you can just get them all at once when you get that very beneficial flu shot! haha. How ridiculous. Sorry you had to put up with that and the rest!

I assume the reference to "cold" wasn't to cold temperatures but rather to the season of the common cold.

I'm reaching here, but I guess the idea is that since your immune system is down you would, uh, benefit from injecting yourself with immune challenges?

Don't you know that if you get your flu shot you won't get sick AT ALL during flu season?
