Okay, part of my right big toe went numb (the tip) when ds was 4 mths old. About 4 months later, the pad of my left big toe went numb too.

I tried acupuncture a couple of times, massage once, and now am on my 8th visit with the chiropractor...no change. We are POOR and have no health insurance, so I can't play around with this.

I am fairly healthy, average weight, I walk some for exercise- haven't stretched much since birth. I did have some neck probs when this first started, but that's been resolved for a long time.

I'm so frustrated. Today the chiro actually told me that he would refer me if no change in 4 more visits and the next step would be a cortico-steroid shot!!

Same thing happened to me about 10 years ago. Finally figured out that it was the toe ridges in my birkenstocks that were causing the problem. Stopped wearing the birks and the problem resolved itself. That is the only thing I can share - check your shoes for toe ridges! I hope that it is that easy.

I just tightened up the toe loop in my Chaco's just to see if anything changes. I've been wearing nothing but Chaco's or Dansko's since all this started. Trying to go barefoot more just to see what happens...

My mother has had a LOT of problems with her feet, mostly due to wearing very pointy high heels as a twenty-something. Her podiatrist's biggest recommendation for foot health is that people rotate the shoes they wear so that they have at least 3 pairs that they wear regularly.

That's a great idea. I wore terrible shoes when I was pg...learned my lesson and bought good ones this year. Got rid of every shoe that isn't comfortable.
