Numbness in arms/hands, legs, and tongue

782 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mimid
For the past 4-5 days, my arms, hands, and legs have been going numb off and on. It first started only when I was sleeping. Now it's all day, at various times and for no apparent reason. I am 36 weeks, and am 99% positive that it's just from the baby sitting on a nerve or something. I wasn't worried until the right side of my tongue went numb. It only lasted a few seconds, but it was definately numb.

I really don't want to call my CNM, as I am afraid she will tell me to come in and try to induce. So is this anything I should worry about? And is there anything I can do to lessen the symptoms?

it may be nothing, but you might consider letting your midwife know as it might be a sign of something bigger going on...

wishing you peace...

I don't know what it is, but I have carpal tunnel in both hands and it started off as them going numb. The doc advised more protein and water and less salt. Hopefully someone else will know what this is and have better advice.
