Ok everyone,
We are planning a Nurse-In at KGUN 9 studios to correspond with the protest in NYC. This is in response to the many negative, outright rude, and misinformed comments made on "The View" in regards to breastfeeding and public breastfeeding. "The View" reaches millions of women everyday, many of these women look to the hosts of the show for correct and current information. We need to let them know their comments are unacceptable. We need to let ABC as a company know that "The View" is alienating a large demographic of its viewer base by allowing this to continue.

Please forward this information to anyone you think will be interested in supporting our cause. Please come out and join us! Nursing moms, non-nursing moms, dads, everyone who believes in breastfeeding is encouraged to come. Bring signs, wear advocacy gear, bring water too! Remember the more people the bigger the statement. The protest in NYC is being covered in the Times, and many other papers, as well as radio from Canada! Let's show them Tucson has a large voice as well!

What?: Nurse-In to protest negative comments on "The View"

When?: Monday June 6, 2005
9:45AM-11AM

Where?: KGUN 9 studios
7280 East Rosewood Street
Tucson, AZ 85710

OP, could you pm me your contact info? There is a reporter covering the NYC nurse-in for the NYTimes and she's interested in talking to some people from any affiliate station nurse-ins.

Thanks!

Yeeha! I want to say a gigantic THANK YOU to all the mamas everywhere who participated! We had a really good turn out here in Tucson. We had 17 moms, 2 dads, and 33 kids! The studio actually let us sit in their shady doorway and relax. They had a reporter and camera there, and interviewed quite a few of us. Then they aired the story on the 5:00 and 6:00 news. The story was different each time. We were more than a blurb I would say. We had about 2-3 minutes. The story was very positive even!! I am going to check and see if they run anything at 10. I wish they had a link on heir website. They have the absolute WORST website I have seen for a major news station. There is basically nothing on it! Oh well. They were the only media we got, but I think it was way bigger a story than I expected. We had some great signs too, and lots o advocacy gear was worn.

Thanks again mamas! You ROCK! We pulled that off in 3 days. Just think of what we could do with more time.
