An interesting thought and one that makes sense. I bet the nurse at my dd's birth had a 99% c/s rate. She was shocked that I gave birth at all I think. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hammer.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hammer"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="rolleyes"> Hindsight being 20/20, I wouldn't have gone to the hospital at all, but even if I did I would have "fired" that nurse.<br><br>
Anyway, I was at a Natural Birth Options class last Monday (went to support a friend and also out of curiosity) and the doula made that statement. I thought that was interesting.<br><br>
BTW, not that it pertains to you unless you live near me... but the hospital in Bloomington has a 16% c/s rate... 9% of those are primary c/s (non repeat c/s). Not as bad as I would have expected. I bet it's 30% at the hospitals in my town.
