Im due with my second baby next month and I was thinking of putting together a nursing box to keep by the couch so I would have stuff on hand. When I had DD it was really easy for me to get things done since my brother lived with me and my husband had a couple of weeks off of work and either would get me whatever I needed while I nursed. This time Im going to be alone with a 22 month old.
What would you put in the box? Any good suggestions for things to keep on hand for my DD? Thanks!

Phone, remote control, book, burp cloth, nipple cream, water, snacks, paper and pen, wet wipes... for you and your baby.

Maybe another box for your 22 month old with some of her favorite things? Maybe you can rotate a new toy (or old toy rotated back into the mix) into her box every couple of days for her.

Would be good to have a diaper changing station nearby too.

Maybe your husband can help replenish the boxes each night? (Just dreaming of what I might hope for.)

Best wishes!

Depending on the size of your house, I'd add a change of clothes for you (well, shirt) and baby. (Love that newborn spit. )

These are all good suggestions, but I'm really really going to stress water. I could nurse without anything, except water.

Thanks everyone!
Heres what I put down so far:
Phone (DH calls 5 times a day and gets worried if I don't answer)
Puzzle book (for when DD is playing by herself and I have a spare minute)
Spare shirt (DD spit up really bad for the first 3 months so this time it would be nice to be prepared)
Water Bottle (or two-three-four, Im always thirsty while nursing)
Granola bars or other small snack food
Pads and a spare bra
A pad of paper and a pen
my nursing pillow

For DD1:
Coloring book
Books to read
A doll and a blanket
Snacks and a bottle of water
Her favorite stuffed animal
The spare nursing pillow I have since she likes to do what I do

For the baby:
Diapers
Burp clothes
change of clothing

We don't have a big place but I figure I can get it to go under the two side tables we have, one for my stuff/the babys and the other for DD.
