Dd is 18 mos. She's now going on 48 hours w/o nursing. We took her to the ped--no ear infection. Her gums are really red, so ped thinks it's teeth (although she's never had problems with teething before). She gave me homeopathic camilia (we'd been using Hyland's as well), which didn't work. We eventually tried Tylenol, which also didn't work. We've tried nursing in the bath, in dark rooms/light rooms, skin to skin, in her rocker or in bed. Sometimes she asks to nurse, but then won't.

I don't respond to a pump, so I'm trying to hand express as much as possible, although it's really hard to get much. I know my supply is dwindling and I think I may be getting a plugged duct on one side.

I'm freaking out and at a total loss. Dd has serious food allergies and she NEEDS to nurse for immunological benefits and nutrition.

Any suggestions...please!

are you able to get her to nurse in her sleep? also, it looks like you did, but i may as well ask, have you checked out kellymom yet? i hope this ends for you soon.

i would call a la leche league leader in your area, i think their website lists #s. also keep hand expressing, that worked better for me than a pump ever did. could you possibly have thrush on your breasts or could your DC have it in her mouth? this could make nursing painful. does she have cold sores or anything?
