I am separating this question from my other one about immune disorders because they're not completely related, BUT I was stunned and dismayed when my period came back suddenly yesterday. I have 25-month-old twins, and I know it's been a while now, but I thought as often as they nurse (many many times a day) and their being 2 of them, and they don't drink any other kind of milk, it shouldn't be back yet. Could this be some sort of indicator that for some reason they aren't getting enough milk? If you saw my earlier post you know I'm worried that one of them has something wrong with his immune system and I'm freaked out now that he's not getting enough breastmilk either. Sorry to sound like melodramatic, but there it is. I sure would appreciate any reassurance you can give, or honestly if you think there is a problem.

Well, I've never nursed twins, but I got my first PPAF at 3 months with DD with her nursing every hour if not more. She definitely is getting enough milk, though my supply does dip a bit after I ovulate until I get my period.

I haven't read your other question yet, but is it possible that since you got your period yesterday that maybe you ovulated beforehand (I've heard that the later you get it back, the more chance there is of an ovulation occurring beforehand) and your supply dipped some due to the hormone shift?

5 months with singleton, 7 months with twins...twins were exclusively breastfed until 6 months, when I started giving them people food...they were still nursing around the clock though...but going longer stretches at night. For me it seemed like one 5-6 hour stretch per day of not nursing brought AF back.

25 months would have been heavenly...

Boy oh boy you cannot imagine my shock! It had been so long I had forgotten all about periods. Boy was I lucky it happened at home. I couldn't believe I still had tampons! Since I had done fertility treatments, I actually had not had a period for 3 years!!! You could've knocked me over with a feather.
