I used a NuvaRing for two months about a year and a half ago, and I started having horrible itching and swelling while using it. I thought at the time that it was an allergic reaction to the NuvaRing, but I've since had my first diagnosed yeast infection, and it was pretty much the same as the NuvaRing reaction. So I'm thinking the "reaction" was really just a bad yeast infection.

Now I'm considering trying the NuvaRing again after my new babe is born, but I have a couple of questions: Have you ever had a yeast infection while using the NuvaRing? Do you think my yeast infection was caused by the NuvaRing or just a coincidence that I got one while the ring was in?

Thanks in advance!

I was on NuvaRing for over 2 years until just recently when I decided to try NFP. It worked so much better for me than pills or the patch. I really liked it. I never had a yeast infection while using it. I did find that it was more comfortable to insert the wider end first so that it wouldn't irritate me. It was slightly uncomfy for the first few months until I figured this out.

I've been using NuvaRing for over a year now, and I'm really happy with it. It's one of the only forms of BC that does not give me break through bleeding!

I've only had one yeast infection, and I don't think it was related to the ring. My only complaint is that sometimes I can feel it during sex, and my DF says he can feel it too. So now I remove it before sex and put it right back in afterwards.
