Does anybody know?

My FIL is a celiac, and has always avoided oats as well as the other gluten grains. But MIL just found a brand of oats that claims to be gluten free (uncontaminated by wheat/barley/etc), and is 'safe' for celiacs.

I am also currently doing an ed for dd (who is ebf) to figure out which foods cause her troubles. And I'm avoiding gluten (will probably be the last foods I challenge). But being able to have oats would sure help. And it would help MIL too, as she cooks for FIL.

Thanks.

The biggest issue with oats is cross-contamination. That's the reason why most celiacs react to them. There are several brands of gf oats out there, which is awesome.

There is still a small percentage of celiacs who cross-react to the oat protein, avenin.
