Gemma will be two on October 25

I'm looking for ideas for a birthday party. Last year we were at my house and it was pretty low key with autumn food dishes and a pumpkin cheesecake. I think this year she's ready to get out and have some fun!

I was thinking of a corn maze or something fall like outside. Her older cousins won't have much fun hanging around the house. Any suggestions for a fall party (I'm not a big Halloween fan and I want to avoid falling into the trap of using that as a theme for her).......?

Hi, I was also an October baby and I absolutely loved to have a party that time of the year. I could invite friends over and everyone would wear a costume. We would bob for apples (maybe you could adjust this to a 2 year old level. pick them out of a tank of water and than make caramal apples.) Also fun and easy games like hit the pumpkin pinata and closing eyes and feeling worms (cooked spaghetti) would be fun. You could set the stage to play bats by reading Stellaluna- then cut up some paper bags and make bat wings and pretend that you are bats and fly around. I know you are not a big Halloween fan. maybe just take some of the elements that you like of the holiday and have fun with them. As a near Halloween baby (oct 30th) I 'll tell you that I always looked forward to Haloween and it made my birthday parties so much fun!

Good luck!

My dd just turned two, and ds is turning 4 on nov.4. i would have done this party for either of them, but she wanted winnie the pooh....Anyway,It is a "wild rumpus" from the book "where the wild things are". Friends(cousins)can wear a costume if they want, and we will have a "wild rumpus" time after the cake when I'm going to rent the movie of the book, or just read it, then turn on some music like"wild thing"by Jimi Hedrix, and maybe "the monster mash"...etc..and let them be wild.I am SO exited!I am also going to paint trees and such on the toy room walls with some book characters and call it the rumpus room....
