i ive been having this pain... almost like a pulled muscle in my belly not on the bottom to be round ligament pain but on top. i asked the midwife and she had no clue. never heard of it.<br>
it hurts the worst when i pick up dd. can you pull muscles in your belly while preggo? or what else could it be?

is it in the middle of your belly on top? It may be your abdominal muscles pulling apart. That's what happened to me when the baby dropped. Searing pain for a few days. Now it feels itchy from the inside.

i remember reading this just a few days ago in passing ...<br>
then i got a cold and started coughing like crazy...<br>
now I TOO have the top-of-the-belly soreness. feels like a pulled muscle or a big fat bruise. it's actually quite uncomfortable. in fact, it was the icing on the cake about an hour ago and i had a meltdown and just started boo-hooing my eyes out. ds was watching Thomas on the couch w/me and just started saying, "how do you feel, mommy??? what are you feeling, mommy?" then dh, who was washing dishes, peeked around and was stunned, "what happened?"<br><br>
nothing happened -- i'm just sick of it all. i haven't slept more than 2 hours/night in a month, i'm still going to the gym to keep up my stamina for labor ... but it's killing me and my abilities are far diminished. i'm counting calories like a freak b/c my MW is a weight-gain nazi and i'm by no means dainty. my brain is fried and trying to manage a women's clinic and appropriately/compassionately deal with patients' accompanying drama ... it's really getting to me. just being cordial is getting difficult.<br><br>
AND paying adequate attention to ds1? i'm so effing done, to quote carrie bradshaw, i need a new word for done. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
but then, if you asked me if i wanted to go into labor tonight i'd say hell no. maybe in two weeks, but not right now. 38 weeks would be fine ... not 36.

I tore a muscle on the side of my abdomen when I was pregnant with my ds. It was really painful! I hope you can find a way to avoid yours hurting!

I've had a very similar pain, but I attributed it to my constant coughing the past two weeks. I figured I pulled something.
