... what % regret it?

I know here it's pretty high but what about in the real world?

I'm just wondering what the stats would look like if people thought more about it before they did it.

I regret it and I have another friend who regrets it. Actually, she didn't want to circ but her husband took the baby and did it anyway--they almost got divorced over it. Other than that, everyone else that has circ'd thinks not circ'ing is "nasty".

Your kidding, my sister is in FL and said EVERYONE circs there (so she didn't need any of my info), of course she circed so "my son will have cute penis" so I doubt anything would get through to her.

I would guess that most are happy with their decision and don't see a problem with what they did. Even if 20% TOTALLY regret what they did...that means 80% still think they did the right thing.

My sisters and brother all circ'd their kids and except for one sister mentioning that she thinks the circ on her second son wasn't done quite right I think they are all totally fine with it. Even the sister that mentioned the problem doesn't really regret circing...their Dr told them it would prevent infections.

And really...I remember reading a quote from a mother whose son DIED as a result of his circ and she said that they would still circ and future sons.

Crazy but just goes to show how effective the brainwashing is.

I'm a member of NOCIRC florida, and the statistic comes from the mailing list. The reason it's so low, and my first son along with many other boys in another few years will be the minority re: circumcision, is because we FINALLY got the bill passed in florida that medicaid NO LONGER PAYS FOR CIRCUMCISIONS IN FLORIDA!!!!! It was a huge win for little boys throughout the state Because many of the babies being born in hospitals in florida are on medicaid, they go home intact

<-----another FL mom here and i love that 35%... (theres always room for improvement.) We are also on medicaid and I remember that before I switched to my homebirth midwife the OB said that cir would be $500....way out of our budget. Luckily we already decided not to cir, so it was never an issue.
Anyways I'm glad that the state wont pay for this. No not glad... thrilled!!!

I think that if people knew it was an issue at all before they did it, read about it, and considered it seriously, THEN there might be more who regret DOing it. But that's just not the reality of most people's experience. SOOooooo many women AND men just don't realize there's a reason to choose to leave boys intact. It's just "standard protocal" to them. That's why it's so important to share the information we have on why it's important to prevent the docs from performing this heinous act.
