I love the Binsi for birth idea but they are so expensive! Any idea where to get them used? (Is that really gross??) I've searched for them discountedand the most discounted I found was $3 off regular retail. Um, not a significant difference people . . .

I know there are lots of other alternative ideas for what to where in labor but I haven't completely let go of my Binsi dream yet! And as far as I know NO one else makes birthwear. (If you know of any let me know!)

YES, I also have the Binsi dream! I have been looking at their website and trying to decide if the $ is worth it. I didn't even think about looking for other companies. I'll definitely let you know if I come across anything.

I really wanted to get one as well, but can't bring myself to spend the money. I know it's not exactly the same thing, BUT I got a skirt at Old Navy Maternity a few weeks ago that is all cotton and folds over - it's not a pannel or the low-rise elastic, it's VERY lose and comfy. Anyway, I got that for $5 and they are on sale on their website for $5 right now too so I ordered another one in a darker color. I figure I can wear that during labor & birth hopefully. It's soft, cheap and easy for the MW to "access" what she needs to. Not sure if this will really work or not, but figured I'd pass it along as an idea. It's definetly more appealing to me than the Johnny they will offer at teh Birth Center.
I just can't stomach spending the money for a Binsi when I'll only wear it once. Here is the link to it.

I fully agree with not wanting to wear a hospital gown. I have a couple of old long night shirts that I don't care if they get stained or anything that I plan to bring. My main goal is just to be comfortable.

Binsi for birth is this special made skirt to wear as an alternative to the hospital gown (or you could wear it for a homebirth if you prefer feeling covered.) It is designed to be easy to use with all medical equipment without looking medical. The website is www.birthinbinsi.com. The skirts run about $50 or so, they have a couple styles.

I like the Old Navy skirt idea though, I might try that . . . thanks!
