DS had his first Tots On Turf class today. It's basically a cute little class where they work on kicking a soccer ball and going through a course (hopscotch, balance beam, jumping over and crawling under low and high steps, running and crawling through a tunnel). Great for Owen and works well with the therapy he's already in. A couple weeks ago we passed by it (it's held at our local YMCA) and the coach let us stay to see how ds did with it. He did well and seemed to enjoy it so we signed him up. Today was his first class. Ha. It went well at parts. Not so well at other parts. He FLIPPED OUT because some of the low/high steps were facing the wrong way. He flipped out when one of the other kids knocked one of the steps down. Even though he's almost 4 1/2, we put him in the 2-3 year old class (after talking to the coach about it). We did that because of his developmental delays and because the 2-3 year old class is a parent/child class. The older class is kids only and we knew he would not do well with that.

Oh, add onto that that today was, apparently, a no shoe day. Or even "outside slippers". He wore them long enough to walk into the building (and even that was a fight) and then kicked them off as soon as we got in the room.

Yup, the other parents were definately giving us weird looks

But we're keeping him in it because he did end up having a lot of fun! He says he likes it and wants to go back so.... hopefully next Saturday goes well. DP will be handling that one alone with ds as I have a class all day
