I thought I'd encountered all the weird hair and skin things with my first pregnancy. You know, the goatee, skin tags galore making it look like I never scrub my neck,, the toenail falling off. But lucky me! Now I have BLACK hair growing out of some stretch marks! What the crap is that all about?!? I thought it was just random pregnancy itching and I took a great exfoliating bath and realized there's hair growing there now!

Any good wives tales go along with hairy stretch marks?

I'm sorry. I would just pluck them, unless there's too many, then I'd shave them. I seem to have some black hair growing at the top/underside of my arms, like an extension of my underarm hair. It's rather random, not too many hairs, but ugly none the less. I've also developed quite a few skin tags and I keep getting zits in that area between my breasts, making it quite hard to wear all those cute V-neck shirts that are out this season.

Oooh, ooh! Like, in just the right place to look like you don't know how to shave when you wear a t-shirt? I've got that! I don't think to shave *that* part of my arm so inevetibly at some point in the day I'll be reaching for something and see that part of my arm and go WTH?!?

I'm really really hating the skin tags at the band of my bra. I'm ready to sandpaper them.

You still look in the mirror and pay attention when in the shower? LMAO! Really though, I just started to wear make up again because I look YELLOW and OLD. I am only 27. Now I need to find HEALTHY make up and lotions to make myself feel better about it.

((((Hugs)))) The bathroom mirror and scale is no longer a friend. Just a warning!

Sarah, I cut my skin tags off when they're bothering me. I just use those really small toe nail scissors (clean of course.) The last one I did bled a bit but it hasn't come back.

I look like death chewing a cracker. I can't stand it, really. Pasty, bloated... no strange hairs just yet other than the one on my neck that comes occasionally. Seriously, I look AWFUL. I thought I was supposed to be glowing! Instead I have the skin of a 13-year-old boy.

ETA: This thread made my day. I am cracking up!

Cuticle trimmers work best! They come from the side rather than arching back and you can get reaaaaallly close. One day when I was pg with Titus I came out of the bathroom with a towel on my head and about 15 tiny pieces of toilet paper stuck to little bleeding (former) skin tags on my neck and side. Dh looks at me like then shook his head and tried to forget about it.

It hurts for a second, but it's so much better than just having them itch and get snagged on your clothes. Unfortunately most of mine are still too flat to get snipped just yet. That and, well.... I have gigantic boobs. There are parts of my body that I just can't see well enough to take a sharp object to.

I haven't started the skin tags thing yet with this pregnancy. I think I look awful, pasty and old. But no skin tags yet. No weird hairs yet either.

No, I will get all those in a few months, I am sure!

This whole thread has me laughing out loud.
I have actually been letting the long black hairs grow out, just as an experiment to see how long they'll get. A couple days ago dd found one on my chest and started to pull at it!
I've been letting myself go. No shaving, no plucking (only eyebrows), no clipping (only toenails).

yoga, what did you switch to?? I am just about to give up and either 1. ignore it and avoid all mirrors or 2. call up my mil who works for a dermatologist and see if she can get me in for a facial. I don't know which is more embarassing, or worse for my health.

I walked by the mirror today and saw these ghastly black lines under my eyes and a bloated, yellow look. Wow. I must really avoid the mirror in the morning when I am brushing my teeth and what not.

No skin tags, but my face looks like a teenagers. It's slowly getting better thanks to renewed dedication to the system at acne.org. It's the only thing that has ever worked for me.

I have the random dark hairs on my arms too, ever since the last PG. But I don't shave my pits anyway, and my legs only every 3-4 weeks in the summer months, so I have pretty much given up on the body hair. However, my chin is getting so hairy that I may need to start borrowing DH's razor! Seriously, I cannot even keep up with plucking it and that particular area of hair reaalllly bugs me. :

This thread is cracking me up! I'm way overdue for some grooming, myself. I had my eyebrows and upper lip waxed and my hair cut short at the end of March. I'm looking pretty ragged and hairy right now. I get crazy chin hairs all the time..but, I can never leave them alone long enough to also get them waxed... I'm always sitting around with the tweezers, etc. Well, until dd2 got old enough to steal them from me and take them who knows where! For some reason, chin hairs bother me more than anything else!

I never shave anything in the winter and usually start again in the spring. I haven't had the energy or the nausea-free time to do it yet. I wish that I didn't care, but during the few years that I didn't shave year-round, I NEVER wore shorts, skirts or really short sleeves no matter how hot it was. And I was going to college in NEW MEXICO. It was ridiculous... Makes me mad that I behave/feel that way, but I need to feel comfortable and dress sensibly.

I thought about trying a leg/bikini wax, but it's so expensive around here! $60-75 per leg! Are you kidding me??!! I'm worried about using chemical stuff while I'm pregnant. Sigh. I'm just going to have to shave a little bit at a time until I get a handle on it. Need to get some new razors...

I love my underarm hair...not the way it looks, but that it's so soft! Sorry, TMI! It's just that my skin is so sensitive and I always get razor burn and ingrown hairs. I wish that I could keep it long and not care about it!

I'm still waiting for the skin tags to show up... When I was pregnant with dd1, my nurse friend told me to tape them down really tightly with surgical tape. After about a week, I just twisted them off with my fingers. It worked well.

Okay, I'm going to stop yakking and go to sleep.

Yup! Me too! Owh!!!!! I'm all for self care & natural childbirth...but honestly...I think they'd have to drug me until I was out cold before I could take scissors to a skin tag.

I've seen where people use thread & they tighten it daily till they fall off. That just freaks me out...I see all these chunks of skin with thread on em laying on the floor...

again...owh!!!!

Honey

I haven't shaved since last years New Years Eve party...Luckily I'm blonde but we had a belly dance fundraiser for Dar a Luz & we were having henna work done...I thought...should I shave? What if I want something around the ankle?....Hubby said I should unless I wanted the henna to be lost amongst the zebra stripes....

Zebra Stripes?!
Yeah...have you looked at your right leg?...
yeahhhh... (as I look closer..)
Your blonde hairs have darkened.

So basically, I'm so white I won't wear shorts on sunny days cause the reflection causes cars to wreck & with the dark hairs that are a good 1-2 inches long...I look like a zebra with thin stripes...

I shaved but it only cut them in half...by then that was just too much energy spent. And, seriously, when did razors become so expensive?

I have 2 LONG black hairs, one on each side of my belly button. It's like some kind of body guard beside by BB...they protect against fuzzies & anyone who wishes to touch my belly. If the touching continues I'm going to raise my shirt...that'll keep 'em off!
