Did anyone else overindulge this holiday? : Holy CRAP! I ate enough for three of me. Dear LORD did I put away the food-and it's not like I was remotely choosey about staying to the healthier stuff!
Turkey
Ham
scalloped taters
fresh cranberry relish
taters
snicker salad
roast beef wrapped sweet pickles
veggies and dip
cheese
pumpkin pie
jello salad

the list goes ON and ON! and then, after I was good and stuffed, I would follow it up with a nice LOONG nap. I was the picture of indolence over the past 5 days. Now it's REALLY hard to get goin!

I did discover a great benefit to being pregnant over the holidays... maternity pants never need to be unbuttoned because you have bloated yourself!

me too, man. thank goodness i'm going back home from the in-laws today ...

they're italian, so on top of the regular stuff, we had, BEFORE dinner...
antipasto: pepperoni, cheese, olives, artichokes, these DELIGHTFUL little peppers stuffed w/prosciutto and cheese ... and the MEAT BREAD. oh, and artichoke dip. THEN for the first course there was homemade lasagna and sauce and meatballs and sausages.

THEN we had the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, etc.

THEN we had dessert.

and THEN we had it all over again for the next couple of days.

i've made no real effort to be especially healthy, either. :

so, tomorrow i weigh and gauge the damage and get back on track, i suppose. no shortness of protein this week, though. so, there's a positive.

I agree with the benefit of wearing maternity pants at Thanksgiving. I think this weekend was the first time they weren't slipping down occasionally. My parents were here from Wednesday night to Sunday morning. I think I ate almost continuously from Wednesday night to Sunday morning.
Definitely more than I have in a long time.

I said the same thing about maternity pants...though I admit, I'm still turned off by most food right now, so I ate broccoli, cauliflower, stuffing, and sweet potatoes, along with a piece of Dutch Apple Pie.

I'd half a bagel and some fruit for breakfast, and a piece of pizza (which I threw up) for lunch, so I ate a pear and some vegetables and dip after I threw up the pizza.

I think I did okay-not overindulgent, but tasty and filling.

Oh I'm just drooling reading what everyone had! After having my surgery I can't eat more than a cup of food at a time now so I have to pace myself on what I eat. I did get wonderful tastes of lots and lots of things but no more gorging for me
I would love to sit down to a table of food and just start eating! Oh and lasagna sounds heavenly right now!

I've been having horrible indigestion lately, so I tried really hard to pace myself and not overdo it.....until the last day at my mom's when we ordered Chinese food. Oh, I'm such a sucker for Asian cuisine.

Like with actual Snickers candy bars? You totally have to share the recipe for that, if you have it. :

Oh honey it's SOOO bad! Don't give in to the temptation!

and SO Good! Here's the recipe (I'm such an enabler)

We often refer to this as Snickerdoodle Salad-but technically, I think that's something else.

1 pkg of small snickers candy bars (or 5 big ones) chopped into bite sized pieces
2 small pkgs of vanilla pudding
3 granny smith apples chopped into bite sized pieces
16 ozs of Cool Whip
1 1/4 cup of buttermilk (damn...or was it 2 and 1/4 cups?)

blend the pudding mix, buttermilk, and whipped cream together first and then mix in your snickers and apples.

I'm really a real whipped cream fan myself, but the fake Cool Whip stuff really seems to stay together better. Although, if you're a total pig, you could probably get away with the real deal if you're eating it in one sitting! LOL!

Ooh, thanks! I think I'll give it a whirl with homemade pudding and real whipped cream (although that does seem a little silly since the main ingredient is Snickers ), but if that doesn't work, I'll use the fake stuff instead.

Oh yeah, totally overindulged. But I have an excuse: I was the official pie-baker, and since I baked three different kinds, I had to try them all, of course. How will I know whether or not to make that recipe again?

Got on the scale this morning. Two lbs in the past week. Yikes. I hope I'm retaining water or something.

Yep, ate like crazy, and felt so great!
Then an hour later I saw that one of my brothers was chewing tobacco (a habit I was unaware of) and then my mom told me he swallows the nasty stuff instead of spitting it out......
:puke
So I lost all of Thxgiving dinner and lost all interest in food till just before bedtime. Totally robbed. I am still completely incensed at his lack of social skills and manners, and even lack of remorse after the fact!
