My house is depressed the heck out of me! It's seriously disgusting and me and dh(mostly dh) just can't get it clean. We have just a little bit of extra money this month that should go toward the hb and I just want to pay someone to clean this place! Would it be horrible of me to spend like $50 on this extravagance? Does anyone else have this urge to?

Hiring a housekeeper was one of the best things I have ever done for my family and myself. It has changed our life for the better in ways I would never have expected. There is less tension in the house. I have more patience with the kids. My husband and I have more time for romance. We are all more active and do more fun things. It is amazing.

I don't care if I have to go get a part time job bagging groceries to pay for it, I will always have someone come clean my house at least twice a month. (right now, in Korea, it is much more affordable for us -- but if we move back to the states, you can see me at the Kroger a couple of nights a week)

Needless to say, I wholly encourage you to DO IT! You won't regret it, I promise.

I so wish I could have someone come in just to wash the dishes! I would go for it even if it is just once. Get the place clean then it will be easier to keep it clean...maybe.

At this stage, I think I would be too embarrassed to have someone come in this house! I haven't vacuumed in over a week and we have two dogs. I normally vacuum every other day if that gives you an idea of the level of grossness.

I am feeling a little better so maybe the vacuum will run before the day is out. It's a pretty big maybe, though ladies!

I think that you should go for it. I actually would do that, too if I weren't so embarrassed. Hmmmm. I guess they would understand, though.

You really got me thinking. I would love to have a clean house and something nice for lunch...

I would LOVE to hire someone even once/month. Alot of people in my homeschooling group have someone once/week. I really don't think we could afford it but whenever my mom says "what can I do to help" I tell her to send her housecleaner over here. She hasn't done it yet but what a help it would be. Just BEING in my house regularly makes me more sick. My wonderful dh (he's a great dad) hasn't a clue how to clean anything and they kid's messes just do me in. If I'm not on top of it constantly then it's out of control in a half/day. Needless to say right now I'm not the least bit on top of it. I hate, hate, hate it!

We can barely afford to eat, so I just make DP clean when he gets home from work.

I would absolutely hire someone if there was any way we could afford it. With the bedrest in my first pregnancy, and then having a preemie, DD has been in the newborn stage for 3 months now, and with this new surprise pregnancy, I barely have the motivation to shower, let alone scrub my floors and wash my windows. I say go for it!

If it won't hurt your budget, then I would call around & get some quotes.

If I could afford it, I totally would! Instead my mother comes over on the weekend and cleans while I take a nap. Dh is fixing up our backyard every time he has a free moment, so he's busy (we really need the back yard done for dd!) I love my neat freak of a mother!

Yikes, my house is normally SO clean (this will be my first lol) and right now it is a PIT. I need to vaacum, clean the kitchen and do dishes, laundry, OH SO MUCH TO DO. But I've been feeling sick almost constantly. I'm embarrassed to have anyone over!!

We definitely can't afford help though- we're both fulltime students haha.
