I went to a chinese acupuncturist and she gave me a tea and some oregano oil capsules. I was only supposed to take 1 oregano with each meal and I've just taken 2. Everything I read about it says use with caution and that it's NOT for use in pregnancy!! I's extrememly potent and causes burning and has to be diluted when applied to skin. Some people have burned their throats using it.

The tea she gave me is dong quai and something else??? That also is NOT for pregnancy... Yikes, I am trying to stimulate labor but I don't want to harm the baby in the process. I don't even know how many times a day she said to use the tea.

Hi, I am no expert, but I think that usually when herbs are contra-indicated for pregnancy it is because they could cause contractions or premature birth.

But actually, these two herbs are very good for moving the chi, building the blood and getting your digestion working well. I wouldn;t worry. In fact I would be thrilled to have such a good acupuncturist.

Good luck in Labour.
