Somebody help! I just flushed an SOS doubler down my toilet!
DH is going to freak out when he gets home, it's a brand new house and we've already had tons of trouble with our other tiolet and finally got it fixed. I remember this happening to another mama her a while ago but I can't remember how she fixed it. Please tell me I'm not going to need a plumber!

I've flushed fleece liners and cloth wipes inadvertently with no ill effects, lol. You didn't say in your post...is it clogged or overflowing? If not, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I would go to the store, buy a plunger, and a wax ring (Walmart, and most hardware stores sell them)

Try plunging first, if that doesn't work, have your dh take off the toilet, (It's really easy, remove 2 screws on sides, and lift) it is probably stuck at the 'trap'.

Before putting the toilet back on, have him replace the wax ring, otherwise you'll have leaks.

It's super easy, I could do it *which is saying alot*

I think it's in the actual toilet still b/c it got clogged right away. It was a nasty poopy diaper that was left out overnight so it soaked all day... not a nice thing for DH to have to stick his hand into

Yup, had our toliet removed before, no big deal...well except for the fact that we had it out on our front lawn upside down trying to get the thing out that clogged it. Thats was kinda embarrassing. I would call a plumber, toliets can be heavy.

Dh has flushed a few wash cloths and liners before though so your definetly not the only one.

I'm just so irritated with myself because I never, ever flush when the diaper is in there for this reason but I also never soak and the water was so nasty I had to flush first. I thought I had a good grasp on both but I saw the doubler start to go and it happened so fast I couldn't grab it. Plus I really need that doubler! :LOL

I have no advice but I did want to say I'm amazed at how much you mamas know about plumbing!!
My dad would kiss your feet if you walked into his store (he owns a hardware store)! :LOL

I had that happen to me. It usually gets stuck in the gooseneck part of the toilet. You can try to fish it out with a wire coat hanger, but if that doesn't work, you have to do what Jodi said.

OH - DON"T PLUNGE! You'll just force it farther into the pipe where it can cause much mischief that would require a visit from a plumber.

I flushed a wipe with no ill effects...

but I've taken the toilet out **3** times for other reasons (we get tree roots in our water pipes, lovely lovely lovely.

It's SOOOO nasty with the wax ring, but eh, you gotta do it, right?

Just don't do what I did..... there was a big hard chunk of poo (when we moved in... so NOT OUR POOP! EW) and I cut my hand open on it!! It was stuck to the wax ring... and I was trying to get the old wax ring off.... and OW!!! I had this big gaping bloody mess with SOMEONE ELSE'S POOP IN IT!

Good luck!

You cut your hand on poo???? OhMIGOODNESS!
I am impressed with all the plumbing knowledge. I too know WAY too much about the inner workings of my potty (we did all of our own plumbing when we buiolt our house at 19)
Yes a tiolet is easy to remove, 2 screws and 2 men. Word of advise! Have tons of towels ready, I agree with Chava DO NOT plunge. The doubler is trapped in the windy part called the "trap"
Good luck, let us know how it turns out!
