I was wondering if it'd be possible to make your sourdough bread into cinnamon rolls (and if that would taste good?). Have you done that? I was thinking of roll out the dough, spreading with melted butter and then a mixture of cinnamon and rapadura. Roll and cut. Can I just ww pastry flour for the dough?

And for frosting, maybe just cream cheese blended with maple syrup and vanilla?

That does sound yummy!

I tried a new cinnamon roll recipe this month. It had the cinnamon mixed with the butter. I liked that so much better. I have always spread on the butter then sprinkled cinnamon sugar over the top because that is how mom does it! Mixing the cinnamom with the butter made the cinnamom kind of melt into the bread. It was so much tastier and prettier!!!

Oh man- you're making me drool Goatlady - that sounds sooooo good. I haven't made those in a long time but when I studied macrobiotic cooking and learned to make sourdough bread, we used to make cinamon rolls - though without the frosting - and they were yummy. We spread dough with corn oil (but melted butter sounds way better) then I think we used honey or brown rice syrup and cinammon and raisins and walnuts, rolled it up, cut into rolls and baked. That frosting sounds good - that's how I make cake frosting (cream cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla). Please post the results if you try that.
